Jade Falcon Prime declares you as dezgra. Team killing, especially other Falcons, is never acceptable.
Ignoring a batchall, even if coming from a IS pug of uncertain honor, is so much better for a tradition-bound Clan like the Falcons?
He should have not killed you, of course, but how are IS pugs to respect honorable combat if we do not respect it first?

From an RP perspective: Clans ignored the rules of batchalls and zellbrigen for Inner Sphere pilots as soon as they realized that much of the IS had no concept of what those terms meant (until the IS caught on and used those rules against them). A few clans decided the IS pilots were unworthy of zellbrigen, treating them as no more than dark caste/bandit caste. Regardless, clan warriors -never- shot each other in the back and destroyed each others 'mechs in the middle of combat, certainly not without calling for a duel in a circle of equals.
From a game perspective: Team killing/friendly fire is against the code of conduct, especially if your target is not breaking any rules. End of story. To quote:
- Wilfully or repeatedly destroying Teammate or Lancemate 'Mechs.

Especially since no IS pilot knew what Zellbrigen meant

I have been thinking about the "bondsman" RP aspect of this comment since you wrote it.
That would imo be an awesomely immersive aspect of this game were we to be able to pull it off.
ie: You lose and you become a "bondsman" for a week or something to simulate time etc.
As the only Clan Mech I own are Kitfoxes it would actually fit (me) in a way.
No Bondsman could be expected to be piloting a Direwolf out of the gate imo as the risks and expense of tech would not make sense (I could be wrong here, but I don't think I am.)
This is something if possible I would be all for, as it would enhance the MWO experience in ways that PGI has no way of implementing.
An excellent suggestion Jeirhart, and while I can only speak for myself on the matter, I am all for something like that.
Certain things PGI can build, others it will be up to us to create to make the experience more to our liking and or more immersive.

I find this quite humorous.
Actually JFP has more use of a Kitfox than one of those giant wolfmade paperweights. Perhaps a bondsman could pilot a Direwolf. It would make an amusing test to see if they could make it to the gates before the battle was won.

First, let me say that there is no rule on dueling in MWO. If you want to duel, you're free to /try/. However, nobody else in the game has to respect your duel attempt.. they can attack targets like anything else. If you want a PRIVATE duel, that is what the private lobby is for.
However, once you start committing intentional teamkilling to enforce your own attempt at a public duel you are breaking the rules of the CoC and will face moderation for it. Also, encouraging teamkilling in said situations is against the rules.
Bragging about this does not make you a big player, nor enforce your 'clan honor'.
Follow the Code of Conduct. If you want to invite a player to a private match for a duel you are all welcome to.. but the public battlefield is that, public. You don't get to dictate how the other players play.. and teamkilling is griefing.
Players have been given a break for this. So let us hope they understand this is unacceptable and play in a more constructive fashion.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to let me know.

In very short..
1vs1 combat, no AOE weapons, no hiding cowardly (tactical use of cover is fine, some may resort to ambush), engaging another warrior's opponent may result in a Grand Melee, where all rules are thrown away and all means are used to destroy the enemy. Btw, this is how Clan units fight against bandits, mercs and otherwise not honorable foes.
Btw, every single Clan has a slightly different interpretation of Zellbrigen, some like Wolf are more liberal, CJF is more strict, Diamond Shark is more opportunistic (they use Zell only when the battle favors them, etc..).
Oh and of course the Batchall, with which the attacking commander asks the defender to state the size and composition of their forces so that his commanders may bid just enough troops to take the objective. But this may or may not work in MWO ..

First off, I was declared bondsman by some falcons or another after a CW match when I was ready to switch factions. Then, during one pug match against the Skye Rangers of Terra when I couldn't corral the pugs to push when we needed to, I Challenged the enemy properly, in chat an everything. We discussed location, I went to the other gate and we fought it out.
It was glorious, I walked in on a heavy firing line, an my nova and a hunchback circled each other torso twisting and spamming lasers. Then of course, the pugs, who'd not been aggressive or followed me for three mechs, and seemed dead set on camping outside the other gate, decided to push in get the kill. The firing line tore em up an everything, we lost, but my honour was besmirched.
So I went Stiener for a while, to make amends. And, after that whilest on a whirl wind tour of the Sphere, a Falcon I'd enjoyed working with spotted me across the battlefield and called me out.
We dueled, I lost, and again rejoined the fold.
All the best roleplaying has happened on the Falcon/Stiener front for me.
