BWAHAHAHAHA

Hiding in the back and screaming at everyone to hold locks for your LRMs doesn't make you good. I don't have any problems with LRMs as a weapon system and use them myself, but the absolute biggest problem with them is; It's very easy to have very good games with them, leading to bad players thinking they're good players.

Let me get this straight.. 5 PUGs all thinking they are drop commander giving orders to other pugs they don't even know the loadouts of won't make them instantly turn into a well organised and equiped force?

Whhaaaa!

If CW is to be made accessible for PuGs, then this can only be done by seperated queues solo and group. Every other case will end in a very one-sided match (read: massacre). VOIP won't change that.

I think you are using the wrong word.

1st Definition.
I can easily find the CW tab to join.

Once you are in drop it's the same game as Open Que with less modes.

3rd Definition
CW was designed to be more for Groups than PUGs That is not hard to understand. Some players appreciate a place where better teamwork is an advantage.

Ok, so that I am very clear with PGI on the designed CW drops if you are not grouped or clan -pre-made.

You are a non-com, unorganized zero team work concept with a misc mech group that is not on the same page team....

VERSUS A:

A complete clan driven with coms, match mech drop with a goal and plan with commanded leadership driven team.....

Makes perfect sense for sure.

Why make those? I mean team vs team.. I am all for.. completely makes sense lore.. so on I love it.. I am for it and want to see it happen...

But the slaughter part... why even bother inventing that ability???

I mean in High School I once saw a Single A team take on a Four A team in Football... .. it made no sense, the score was 42 - 0 and 3 kids were put in the hospital. Who had fun? The 4 A school did... yeah its a game but why not make it a bit more fair in some drops balance wise.

Is that so bad to try to make them SOMEWHAT kinda even? I mean just a tad??? It just makes no sense to make it so uneven.

Didn't you say you love the lore? So it makes sense that sometimes intelligence gets it wrong, and they waste an elite unit on a down and out merc unit with crappy mechs.

BTW, standard play is still there. NGNG still has a open TS server. Plenty of units recruiting. Marik has a reputation for hosting large House events. Sorry, but not really seeing the problem unless you are a misanthrope.

You know, quoting somthing from a dictionary makes you look dumb in this context. Why? I could explain to you now several communication theories which I studied (Grice, Sperber & Wilson etc) and tell you how many maxims you infringed but nope.

And now pull your head out of your smartaßß and admit that it isn't accessible for a PuG except you are a fan of masochism. Oh wait...now I see where you come from.

And to your third point: I do not mind if they leave it like that - I enjoy my solo mode and can live without CW if it doesn't come to pass. However, be real: no company will invest many resources in a mode like CW if only a small share of the playerbase plays it.

It is accessible by PUGs. As a PUG can play in it. It is a tough time if you are with A LOT of other PUGs v a cohesive team.

It is not easy mode for PUGs or Smaller teams, but the DEVs told us this before CW was even close to launch.

Didn't study that Communication theory in Toolmaker Classes, So you will have to forgive my not understanding what you mean to infer.

Unlike in the public queues, a separate solo-only queue won't make that big a difference in CW as explained here.

With the state of alot of the gaming industry these days, what game companies will spend money on never ceases to amaze me.

On the other hand I really think this game is headed in the right direction. It is missing a few key features such as a tutorial for starters but its at least headed the right direction.

Also there is actually feature addition to this game where so many others do not add new features.

Lastly, players are no longer stuck with BLUE VRS RED TDM, and Im glad because that sucks. :)

OP,
You are absolutely correct -- but its BETA and PGI will realize this issue soon enough. Once again they will implement some way of segregating the solo players from the 12-mans.

But it won't be anywhere as effective, as seen here.

There is a reason why I do my PUGs on CW and why I play mostly CW except during ceasefire or leveling mechs.

1. Pugging in the public queue will get you stomped anyway and its no cure from stomping.
2. In the public queues, a lot of the times you feel you are in a really bad team. Really bad. Hence you get stomped.
3. I feel that my W/L ratio is much better on CW than I do with public pugs. See #2.
4. The coordination and intensity on CW is much greater that its almost addicting. It feels boring and methodic when I get back to public PUGs. At times you get into some unbelievable movie like endings in those CW games.
5. You will become a better player. The only way to become a better player is to throw yourself at the hardest situations and adapt to it.

Look, I understand the desire for the PUG player to play CW.

I also understand that hey, you're having a hard time in CW as a PUG.

But that doesn't mean you can't play as a pug in CW now does it?

By Defination, PuG's have access to CW, thus CW is "Accessable"

Now then, what you mean, is that pugs have trouble in CW because it's pug vs group like in the old days.

And while yes, you are correct, the even BIGGER failure, is in the Player mentality. for 3 years prior to CW, we had a gamemode that was glorified TDM with some extra win conditions here and there. There were no tactics, there was no real thing other than "KILL EVERYTHING YOU SEE."

Why do you think the defense que's are always heavily populated in CW, while the attacker que's are barely filled outside of larger units? Because the larger units know to use stragety, the pugs that make up a big part of the defense que on a planet often times, only know "Kill the enemy."

The problem lays with players mentality. If Pug Players would LEARN, instead of taking a 100% lone wolf mentality. we literally would not be having this conversation.

My ability to easily click on a planet and choose to defend make it easily accessible So maybe the Troll or Tool assessment fits you better than me.

That or you just need a nap.

Lol, WoT has mods that do everything but add aim bot to your gun so you get 100% penetration and hit rate and the player base there is still utter ****......so, somehow, I doubt adding a VOIP is going to help. Besides, MWO is Mech WoT, half the players wouldnt think to use it anyway.

I played that kinda Mech game for decades. I came here for something a bit more.

Also Groups were not banished they were segregated. And history proves segregation never sticks. :P

Flaming Oblivion, getting my name wrong since, well, always....

Stats mean nothing. Take a poll. Ask around (and not just your recess friends). Most (if not all) veteran players will agree, hiding in the back in your LRM timberwolf/orion and calling your team morons if they don't hold locks for you doesn't make you a good player. It makes you a tool. But that's making the false assumption you'll listen to anyone, since you're a star in your own mind (and (maybe) your mommy's too).
