So, I quit at 49 points. Not easy to do, but it's just camo.

I almost finished in this position. I got the mech last weekend, and wasn't actually going for the camo, but realised at 11pm on Sunday that I was 1 point short. I eventually got that last point dropping in a Hunchback and carrying the whole team (5 kills, 700+ damage, and I soloed a King Crab and a Dire Wolf.)

To be honest, you're not missing much - the Sherman camo is pretty poor.

I feel ya, it sucks.

I ended the weekend at 49 points. Just 1 away from the Patton camo.

If it makes you feel better, that camo looks lame on the CTF anyway. The Ilya paintjob is way better.

Whoa... so I'm not the only one.

I only managed to play about 50 round between the two weekends, and ended at 25 points... I had to get up early for work, and knew that grinding the last 5 out could take 5 matches or another 50. The kill stealing does upset me. I kept getting 2+ kills and losing or winning with 600 dmg and 11 assists. :( (I was only getting kills when my team started to fold and there wasn't anyone around to kill steal) Im also in the habit of switching targets after removing primary weapons\crippling from enemies, which helps the team but is terrible for these challenges.

3.5 hours to get the last point with 20mins left on the challenge.

The moment the US day players came on, match quality went into the toilet. Doing 3 kill, 800 damage matches and the team still couldn't win.

That made it 4.40am in the morning and i had to be at work at 8.30am.

Went and checked the stats (now I'm alertish).

110 games for 30 points.

TBolt-9S: 6/10
HBK-4J: 2/6
DWF-Prime: 4/19
DWF-B: 2/7
BLR-1GP: 1/1
BLR-1S: 17/51

82 matches for 30 points, I can see why people got frustrated.

Some may find the time, some may not. You had 2 weekends, it should have been enough to make it.

The Victor challenge only landed me to 3 points, and I was playing all week on that. I didn't bother for this one, and honestly, I would rather earn 48 assists than score 1 or more kill, an assist or more and survive the match. Nope, I aint doin that, I aint even gonna bother trying

I have two friends I got into the game in the past couple of months. Both were slaughtered non stop these two weekends.
One had 13 and the other 7 in two weekends.

That's the new player experience in MWO solo que.

I did all 50 but it took a lot of resolve to do so.

I like how the stocking stuffer "challenge" was done the best. For the most part It meant I had to perform well to get a point. I like the idea of "Get a match score of X and get a point".

Relying on your team to follow through on a win sucks in public queue. Often they jump all over a wounded mech for a kill just to get caught out in the open and annihilated, and which point we set ourselves up to lose.

I think match score is a good metric. It rewards an individual player for his/her performance. Plus, a good match score meant you were a contributor to the match anyway which indirectly makes you a useful teammate.

Never wanted the camo

So wasn't bothered about that

Got 44 points overall in 94 games.

Was pretty rough /

I wasn't that far below 50/50 and with some of the teams I got no kidding this was a act of divine skill.

Some of the losses were horrific the score sheet became to painful to look at.

You got the first kill your trying not to kill anything to be nice . You watch 3 allies go down trying to kill a cored Dire whale , You think okay gotta start killing or were losing this. Your the last guy standing with 6 enemy mechs down your the only guy that's killed anything and your desperately trying to avoid being focus fired 6-1.

You die see the score board not a single kill on the team but you everyone else is under 150 dmg. Your at 1400ish damage with 6 kills.

WTF are you supposed to do with that?!

/rant off

But I got my 40 points all I care about

I partly like this type of challenge and the scoring metric for it, especially the win condition is good because it forces people to actually work for a win rather than just farming the other requirements. I hope PGI continues to include a win requirement in their challenges.

30 points for one weekend was too harsh a grind for my limited skill level, but over two weekends i found it ok. I think I got about half the points each weekend.

What's interesting about these challenges is that they show you that you may not be a consistently good as you think you are. Getting damage in + winning often is probably the best measure of performance. The only improvement I'd make is to change the kill + assist requirement to 450 minimum damage and 2 "Kill most damage dealt", since that would prevent the cheap points you currently get from matches where you just happened to get a lucky killshot even if you didn't actually do a good match. With that kind of harsher requirements to score they could lower the points needed to 10-15, with each point feeling like a real achievement without unacceptable grind.

Another interesting challenge might be "duelist" where you'd need 2 solo kills in a match to score a point, and 5-10 points needed for some nice reward.

I actually think some challenges could have harsh enough requirements that most players simply aren't good enough to score a point, it's not a challenge if everyone can do it just given enough time. This time I knew it was just a matter of playing enough games, I didn't have to push myself to score points because 1+1+win is just what happens every third game or so. It would have been more fun if the requirements was a lot harder, so that only in my absolutely best matches I could hope for a point, but with only 5 or so points needed. That would have made me focus fro some intense playing rather than just putting the hours in. I think for some challenges it should be very hard to score a point with only a few points needed, and some others could be more like this one that has relatively easy scoring. (and with slightly less points needed) And some could be stocking stuffer events that are just free goodies. A nice mix.

I finished at 29 points as well... Unfortunately I had 1 kill and some assists with my Ice Ferret, but we end up losing the game. It ends about 4 minutes before the deadline....
