What about the Star League Dragon-Fire (Sans fire crotch)? Two variants have C3i, but... PGI has been creative in the past. Hmm... I'd fan fund that. Maelstrom also fits, but with no ballistic options, I don't think it would be as popular. Both feature ECM, so this somewhat parallels the Clan Hellbringer.

Both are several years out in the timeline - 3056 (Maelstrom) and 3058 (Dragon-Fire). And the Maelstrom has some new weapons from the later tech, so I wouldn't count on them any time soon.

How or why is the Marauder out? Yes, PGI can't bring in a copy of the artwork/model but there is nothing stopping them from creating their own version of it. The same goes for the Rifleman........

Because of the community backlash over it not being the Macross design (unseen)...

Personally, I'd love to see the reseen in game. I think it looks good and would fit right in with the art design of the Mech's we already have, but i doubt it will ever happen.

I get tired of having to post this, but all the propaganda monkeys need to be combated.

NOTHING IS PREVENTING PGI FROM USING THE MARAUDER OR ANY OTHER MECH DESIGN. IF PGI WANTS TO USE THEM THERE IS A WELL ESTABLISHED, REPEATEDLY USED, CURRENTLY VIABLE OPTION FOR PGI TO SECURE THE RIGHTS AND USE THEM. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE SINCE 2008, ALL STAKE-OWNERS IN BATTLETECH AND THE ATTENDING ANCILLARY MATERIALS ARE WILLING AND EAGER TO REALIZE REVENUE FROM THE ASSORTED INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES.

DON'T BELIEVE THE OFT REPEATED CONSPIRACY STORIES, THEY ARE OUT OF DATE, AND QUITE OFTEN ENTIRELY FABRICATED.

IF RUSS AND PGI WANT TO USE THE MARAUDER OR ANY OTHER MECH OF SIMILAR PROVENANCE THE RIGHTS CAN AND HAVE BEEN SECURED IN LESS THEN A MONTH WITH NO PROHIBITIVE UPFRONT OR PUNITIVE COSTS.

So.... there it is, the simple and happy fact.

Cue the ravening hordes of geek conspiracy nuts to whine, *****, and repeat the same old apocryphal stories they hold so dear to their egos.

And in the meantime send Russ a PM and let him know if you would like to see the Marauder on the field, these latest fast moves for the Urbie show a great level of responsiveness to the community by Russ and Co.

I'm at the point of reseen is better than no Stinger, Wasp, Phoenix Hawk, Riflemen, Archer, Warhammer (Please use the IIC for the base art work), Marauder, Crusader or Marauder II.

Then again I am in my 30's and understand how things need to work.

Sure go ahead and show us your citation, of course by that I mean actual proof not the constantly recycled conspiracies that pop up in community edited "pedias" and such.

Take your time.

The only issue is that people want the old design they just can't have! They are going to have to remake the whole thing to make it reseen basically but in the end it won't look like the old design.

Jonny, all we the fans know, is that FASA and Harmony Gold came to a settlement and an agreement, that we are not privy too. I would imagine that WizKids/Catalyst Labs/FanPro/Microsoft and possibly PGI are privy too.

But facts are that Harmony Gold got the international rights to them from a company that never held them in the first place, as was determined by the Japanese courts.

The lawsuits on the part of Harmony Gold are a matter of public record, You're the one making the contrary claim, ergo you are the one obligated to provide evidence supporting that claim.

Take your time.

oh, YEAH.

1 Ballistic, 2 Energy per arm
1 Missile per side torso, 1 in head
2x Energy in CT

Doesn't even need hardpoint inflation.

the Wizkids Marauder? If PGI redid that mech to look better......I thought that mech was hideous, alongside the Warhammer from Wizkids....

and THIS is why it's not worth it for them to even try.

Because there is no consensus, too much hot button issues, to make it remotely worth it, cost wise. For PGI it's a lose/lose, period. Make the Lorenazis happy, and it won't make it past HG (Because HG gets to vote on these things is one thing Russ has stated). Make it anything distant enough to possibly squeak past the jackwagons at HG, and the community tears itself apart arguing over it.

harmony gold was involved in legal action only last September with hasbro (which they lost) over what amounted to the image of the Phoenix Hawk (and an altered one they had previously licensed at that!!).

While noone doubts PGI can make new artwork or use the reseen and it's stats noone wants to pay the bill if HG sues. In the above case parties were responsible for their own costs so it's not just about who wins or loses.......

I would be all for seeing how PGI could improve on those designs, cuz what they are now is ugly. Im sure they could only improve it.

Lorenazis prolly argue for only wanting the originals cuz those are the ones that dont make you vomit looking at them. Maybe not quite that bad but still.

Besides, PGI has redone every mech up to this point, and I personally think almost every mech they have done looks good, their models are pretty nice. Some of the gun barrels I wish were longer on some mechs.....but meh....I kinda dont doubt PGI could make the Marauder, Warhammer and Rifleman look different enough that HG wouldnt pitch a fit, while also making it look good enough to get past the lorenazis.

Guess we would never know until PGI tosses out some concept art.

even their Warhammer looks differentish, but still looks secksy...to bad HG is a bunch of ********.
