You have a point, and that is one of the potential downsides of translating from a TT to a FPS for many mechs. But on the other hand, the Timberwolf has a similar large torso issue but it still manages to be one of the better mechs in the game, so you never really know how it's going to work out.

True about the TImber Wolf, but I think she is saved only by the graces of the Clan XL engine, if she had an XL like the IS version, I think you would see far fewer Timber Wolves, as well as far fewer clan mechs as a whole.

Marauder.

Archer.

Wasp

Ostscout

Oststol

Phoenix Hawk

Marauder II

Annhilator

Valkyrie

Wolfhound

Hoplite

Rifleman

Axeman

Guillotine

Charger

Katana

Shogun

cyclops

Mauler

Imp

Hatchetman

There, that's the most expedient list from TRO 3050, and not counting Star League designs. All are relatively well known, all are important to battletech/mechwarrior, and some have never been in a mechwarrior game.

LETS DO THIS!

Or Twitter, don't forget all his friggin tweets like the talk about the Urbanmech's engine cap. -_-

Is that a redesigned Warhammer? If so, its beautiful, would fit with the current game design well, and screw HG as they couldn't touch it with that design.

Supposedly these are some concepts from one of our favorite gamer artists. (or so I was told)

We got the Vindicator

We got the King Crab, so how about, the Crab

The Whitworth

The Wyvern

The Mackie (My personal suggestion/want as a followup to the Urbie, its perfect, admit it!)
Spoiler

The Hollander

The Falconer

The Thorn and Marauder

yeah, that's my Whammy. Was my first mech in TT, and still my fave. I figure they cannot have a patent on all mechs with barrel arms, so by changing their geometry, and relocating the trademark SRM rack and searchlight, it would probably pass muster.

[40] Whitworth - A sturdy little tabletop mech, and a stark contrast to the Cicada.
[50] Crab - Long and low, Stalker characteristics in a medium chassis.
[55] Dervish - Nothing really new, just a better looking more functional 55 ton missile mech.
[75] Flashman - Grasshopper Laser boat? Laser dinghy, maybe. This is the Wolf killer.
[90] Cyclops - I have always enjoyed the unique look of the mech, and the 360 stock engine offers new options at 90 tons

True, though I must admit I'm not certain what the popular opinion or even yours is on the Cats. I've got a set of them personally, the A1, the K2, and the Jester that I've piloted off and on a while before the Quirkening and I'd say they're somewhat middling overall. I've had some decent games in them. Actually they're somewhat reminiscent of how the Mad Dogs play. Second line support and/or mop-up mechs. Not the worst company for a Bushwacker.

well, I mean I find the Catapult runs XLs very well. Though in part because of squishy CT. Bushwacker would be narrower, overall than the Catapult, so less frontal CT, but with similar hitboxes could potentially protect it's STs well

I see, and that would actually work out in the Bushwacker's favor, as it comes stock with an XL. Makes sense.

yeah, that's largely my thought. The hitboxes of the "base" chassis should be biased by whether it's originally designed for an XL or not.

Not I say chassis, because mechs like the Awesome, for instance, were designed around a STD engine. The later 9M might have an XL but the mech was not really designed with it in mind. Doesn't mean it has to be bad with an XL, just that it's survivability should be oriented toward STD engines.

Other mechs like the Centy or Shadowhawk protect any type of engine e

The Marauder, Warhammer, Archer. The game already has some unseen (though not from Macross), and the name's are not forbidden, so using new art for either one (art based on the Project Phoenix if not the originals, or in case of the Marauder, MAD-4X) should be fine, i'd imagine. (Heck, we have the Jagermech that looks a lot like the Rifleman...)

For non-unseen...
Clint, if possible, not 100% sure about it having three variants. If not, it could always get a new variant like the Enforcer did. It would also add another 40 ton mech, they're not that common. Fun.
Hatamoto-Chi. Has enough variants.
Black Knight. Has enough variants.

Clan secondline mechs would be nice, though canonically they won't be seen anytime soon.
You know, IICs.
Marauder IIC, Warhammer IIC, Highlander IIC... and so on. Not all of them have enough variants though.

Would love to see the Hatamoto's. Would also love to see Hatchetman and Axeman.

I know the whole melee thing is out, but Yen-lo-Wang should have a hatchet too and he's in game.

After the success of the urbanmech russ tweeted he wanted some more ideas for mechs the player base may want to support.

So here are the guidelines
>there must be at least 3 cannon loadouts
>it must be available in the 3050 timeframe.

So as much as I would love to see a mauler, uziel, bushwacker or a nightstar those are out.

Here is what I will throw some money at PGI for-

1.Hatamoto chi and its variants.
Yes I am a kurita player and I want to see our iconic mech in the game. as of 3050 it has 8 variants available between the chi/hi/ku/kaze and mizo.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hatamoto-Chi

For clans

Again only 2 varians of the piranha and the cauldron born is 3055 so no go there.

my suggestion-

2.viper/dragonfly
Its basically a jumping cicada that does 130kph with 5 variants.

*fixed

Mauler was produced in 3048, its predecessor Daboku was 3038.

My List

Wolfhound - http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Wolfhound
Black Knight - http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Black_Knight
Hatamoto-Chi - http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hatamoto-Chi
Cyclops - http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Cyclops
Mauler - http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mauler
Annihlator - http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Annihilator

IS:

Thug- Alex could make this thing look hardcore.
Champion- wouldn't look like anything else in game, and it is a versatile mech
Mauler/Annihilator - I want a Thug more, but I want these too! haha
IS Galdiator- 55 tons, PGI would have to make a hero variant to get 3. Alex could make this thing look uberwicked, another mech that wouldn't look like anything else in game.
Cyclops- lower on my list, but somehow I think Alex could make the "face" so ******* intimidating it would give people nightmares. Think Giant glowing red orb. Would have to figure out something with that goofy godderm backpack thing though so it doesnt look like it is going hiking all the time.Heck i would be ok with just ommiting the pack for aestetics lol.

IS lights: MEH- until they get them on even ground and fix FS9 HSR issues etc there is no point.

Clan:

I want some non-omni mechs. If Russ is thinking another mech pack, this is where he should focus, on some non-omni mechs as players would be willing to deal with the longer lead time on a pack knowing they have to iron out some kind of system for clan STD mechs. In this list:
Kodiak- This is like the clan Atlas, intimidating as ****, powerful, tough.
Supernova- My favorite clan mech of all of them, Dat arm pod though....rrrgrgrghgrhgrg
Great Wyrm- older clan medium, 45 tons
Stone Rhino(I think) - another unique assault mech, fan favorite
Vapor Eagle- 55 ton clan mech, interesting shape, cannon says it was more stable during JJ use, which would make for some interesting quirk possibility for it

Now I know not all of those are on people top ten lists, but Dem assaults though.......

As for clan Omni-

Ebon jaguar(my second favorite clan mech)
Shadowcat(my third favorite lol)

Ehhhh... actually those are the only two clan mechs I want from the omni side of things, I am FAR more interested in the Supernova and Kodiak though.
