Why is it that after the ceasefire everyone who was playing on CW gets off? its only a 40 minute wait.

Everytime after ceasefire im the 1 guy in the cue, why dont people come back?

Its the same reason we now have three cease fires per day. The action of the last two hours or so can easily wipe out any progress made before then.

As mentioned, only the last 2 hours before a ceasefire determine the fate of the planet. If it was a running percentage total over the 8 hours, it would probably encourage people to play more beyond the current 2 hour windows.

Because most people only stay up till midnight when they really want to take a planet. Staying up till 1am to start on a new world is just silly for people with typical hours.

Ceasefire for me happens around 9pm (PST), so playing after works well on nights I don't have to be up early. And unlike some I never find any of my attacks to be in vain.

That's because it's not a misconception. (but it's still irritating)

The only time it seems to matter is when somebody attacks to 100% in the first hour or so and the rest of the window the defending faction is demoralised and doesn't even bother to defend.

Every attack counts...and therefor matters. Period. Continuing to propagate the common myth of attacks not mattering is poor form and has been since day 1. And this is coming from someone who has often fought in CW directly after the ceasefire. It was created by people who decided that since they had put in work, but others had countered it when they were not on, that something was "broken". Nothing was broken. An attack was countered. It still counted, mattered, and effected how the entire attack window played out. To say that the last 2 hours of an attack window are critical to keeping your gains would be more accurate. Saying that is the only time when battles matter is untrue.
