Stripping armor for an extra DHS? Bold. Congrats on the games, solid play.

You actually strip .5 tons of armor for a medium laser as opposed to a small. Unfortunately you have to have a half ton somewhere when you max your armor, because we can't remove a JJ to even it out for a MLas

Think you are not in a high ELO bracket, it's easier, trust me.

Well... i don't know about my ELO.
All i know is that 99% of my matches are solo drops and after about 8000+ matches my w/l is about 1.3 (1.5 on my main mechs)and a kdr of about 2.1
I don't know how elo is calculated based on these stats. As long as i have good matches... thats fine.

Yeah, but you have lag armor with locusts. All the MLX has is sneaking and jumping. You can't outrun much at 124kph.

Nah, you really don't, not without JJs. Or, at least, I really don't; ping is too low. If that were the case, you wouldn't have been able to PPC plaster me so easily from that damaged TDR-9S when I was sprinting at your backside, juking hard right just before you fired. :P

(That was a good match, btw. Desert Canyon, if you don't recall, us two being last standing.)

Still, MLX ain't easy. A normal, properly kitted out Locust (read: not what I have on the 1E) is the better 'Mech, I think, so pulling serious weight in an MLX gets mad respect.

If you say so.

Something tells me if this had a 225 engine and moved 160 with a similar loadout, it would have been better.

But that's just nonesense; we can't have a good light.

As soon as we have a good light, there are nerf threads for it from guys piloting Dire Wolves with 80 point 500m range alphas.

I was looking at the Arctic Cheetah again...6 SPLs, Jesus Box, 11 DHS TC1.

That's moving 142 with 6 JJs. Humanoid hitboxes.

A good light if ever I've seen one. Maybe. Certainly not a bad one. Though, the up-engined Mist Lynx honestly doesn't sound terrible either. That makes me sad.

Since the challenge is actually better suited for fast lights running long range weaponry to collect assists, it's no wonder you could do well in the Ferret. I mean you are after all punished by turning an assist to a kill with a deduction of 10 points, which is of course a totally moronic way to set up the scoring.

You are right about the challenge favoring fast lights. But that was the reason i included the damage stats too. Farming assists is easy, however.... I think delivering an average of 350+ damage with more than 1 kills and 6 assists per match and carrying the match is something an MLX shouldn't normally do.
It is possible though that the ELO gods were looking out for me this week.

Not the best performance but i managed to capture this from one of the matches. It mostly shows the playstyle i enjoy the most when in an MLX:

Very very interesting.

It's been very usefull watching this, because I could see that I'm using too few alphas in my matches (I don't like to overheat).
Mostly I use chain fire, but it's not productive as those your alphas and 2+2 (arms) fires.

Thanks for sharing this!

Nice work, i too had the most luck running around with my light (pirates bane)...and my timber wolf. Didn't have time to complete the challenge, but still managed to scrape together about 1040 mc..which is a hula girl and some change... lol
