Entered a CW match vs the Ghostbears.

Declared I was a former GB and understood and requested zellbrigen piloting an ember.

Request ignored.

Made request again piloting a CN9-D.

Was met with insults and a sniper headshot for my troubles while powered down in spawn typing followed by "easy".

When asked are you clan for tech or honor?

Answer given was for tech.

I wont name and shame but the honorable lore name you use was dishonored by your actions.

Perhaps one day the Ghostbear honor will be restored in my eyes, maybe when we get Solaris?

Oh how thou hast fallen.

With respect for those who understand my tears and why I left.

-Mechwarrior Caleb Birightmore-

EDIT: Please read ALL of the comments before responding, so as to understand my intent. Thanks :D

Are you 100% sure you were dropping against people who know the lore? Because we have many players who don't know anything except that MWO is fairly nice mech game.

Quite sure. Their leader had a very well known lore name.

And they found it amusing to call me freebirth scum rping (incorrectly) so they knew what I asked and why.

I don't make this post lightly, or on assumption.

Truth is I hate that I even felt the need to make it at all.

They chose their actions knowingly and willingly.

Some do, some do not.

Not all were present, but the dishonor is shared by all.

That is the clan way.

If you are so concerned with accuracey to lore, what is a Pilot recognised as being loyal to House Marik doing on the CGB Clan invasion border anyway?

Also if they identified you as a Marik pilot from your Tags why would they not assume you to be a freebirth. unless of course you are some kind of MWO rock star?

MWO Zellbrigen is optional and has not been vouched by PGI for pilots to have a need to follow these lore rulings, get over yourself it.

(Me thinks pilot with a grudge to a faction cause of old wounds with their own singular experience just wants to make a statement and is bending a situation to fit the purpose. Shame this is represented with hyperbole on the whole CGB community with such anectdotal issues. Quite sad.).

PGI forced this as one can not be clan yet in an inner sphere company, but I will let you tell it, and in lore GB falls into the inner sphere in the end anyways.

I have no grudge vs GB whatsoever, so please do not assume nor presume to understand more than what is directly written, as I do not use indirects.

If I have an issue I make it directly known as I have done.

Methinks you read and see what you want to not what is written. :)

“The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword. If you would take a man's life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the man does not deserve to die.”

Also I clearly stated that while not all were present according to lore since you wish to use this as well all share the shame.

This was in response to a non GB comment and the need to not start an unneeded cross group forum battle.

If simple respect and face are not understood what more can I say to you sir, that you won't force me to explain further than is truly needed?

With Respect,

Caleb

Methinks we all read into things based on our own reality. It does not make your perspective any more the better truth.

Nor does quoting a line from Game of Thrones to do with how "House Stark deals with criminals" actually make your case any the stronger since if you are saying you are a criminal in the eyes of cGB then you would not be granted the right of Batchall pretty much as per any IS pilot anyhow. A deserter to CGB similarly also not granted these rights and likley considered as Dark Caste or Dezgra anyway.

So what's your point?

Game of thrones?

Sorry never seen that.

The quote is a very much older Samurai quote.

Again other than simply not liking my post and incorrectly attributing my thoughts and words what is your point?

Well I thought I had explained my views above.

As a dezgra pilot in the eyes of CGB you would not be granted batchall. Case closed.

That is not exactly correct.

But a great excuse to avoid a potential solo 1v1 loss.

Were it not for the PGI ruleset currently in place this discussion wouldn't even be happening.

Clan Ghostbear becomes inner sphere and walks away from the clans in the end.

Perhaps when Solaris mode starts we can discuss this?

I'm not the best nor the worst but I will never run from a real fight.

Caleb, don't fret my brother. Take a piece of wisdom from your unit's foundations: you shall know them by their fruits.

You ran away from your brothers when things got tough it seems. Even if you were not in the cockpit at the time.

What "more real" a fight can there be than the one of heart and mind? Any fool can press a trigger to their death.

No again incorrect, it seems we agree to disagree.

no arty, no airstrikes, no lrms, no outside help.

If you care to truly settle this the place isn't in the forums.

It's in the ring.

I seek to always be a better pilot.

win, lose, draw what will be will be.

You win I will reverse my post publicly

You lose you simply stop commenting and so will I.

To be closer to lore.

"I am MechWarrior Caleb Brightmore formally of Clan Ghost Bear now Seraphim, piloting the (Rules of engagement to be determined). I hereby invoke the ritual of Zellbrigen and challenge Noesis of Clan Ghostbear to a duel of warriors. In this solemn matter let no one interfere!" Do you accept my challenge?

It's cool.

Thank you Sir, but I knew what I was getting into when I wrote this post.

I will settle it as I do all things to the best of my ability , and with honor.

You might have done better with quoting something about the "stone that was rejected"? But such is the lack of wisdom and foresight of some "priests" perhaps? But seems all we are doing is throwing stones in this thread. Not building on wisdom.

Because I chose to write it, and we just may get a duel out of it which is cool.

CW is half dead anyways why not pump it up and give it a purpose even if that purpose is minor, it's better than the usual I got stomped by a 12 man and I'm mad thread.

Why so annoyed?

RP takes all forms, even in grievance. Its like improv or performance art. Unfortunately all it takes is someone to be a jerk to render a bit of fun hollow or worse, an indictment of one's character.

What is this i don't even...

Sorry, but you can't play a game on the internet and expect guys to play it by the rules you would like to use if they are not the official game rules.
Having lore names doesn't mean they care for lore "rules".

Caleb, I'm Dark Caste. I don't follow Zelbriggen.

My opinions do not change based on the outcome of a duel. If you want to try Martyr yourself in your own eyes then at least have a real purpose other than anger over a conversation all about differences in perspective and opinion.
