point being you want to force your will on someone else. And you refuse when the shoe is on the other foot. It is hypocritical.

Yes I'm being the selfish one, not the one who locks out 23 other people's mechs' by acting like a spoiled brat. Makes perfect sense man.

But a Strategy used to survive. Does not matter what you think of it.

If you're playing MWO to survive, you should start looking at playing DayZ or H1Z1. They're much more entertaining survival games from what I hear.

MWO is a combat simulator. Part of the simulation is actually entering combat.

shutdown is not meant to hide the entire rets of a match

Says you. Nobody official says that. Ergo, not valid. Continuing to repeat it will not make it true either.

Shutdown is whatever I want to use it for, whenever, and however, as long as I do 1 point of damage or take damage, I've participated. If I move with what appears to be intent other than to hide at any point in match, it is not a violation of CoC.

Quote

shutdown ahs other purposes as well, like breaking lrm lock and such

LOL... I love that old mechwives tale. Go ahead and shut down. I get a bunch of free damage off of you as the missiles hit where you last were... where you shut down.

Quote

Or to shut down temporarily and probably cause someone to pass by and ambush them from behind

Or do whatever they want.

Quote

The rule for farmes, is to counter the term of "exploit" while the running and hiding is for the purpose of "griefing" together with tk, and team damaging on purpose.

And none of these definitions are valid for anyone who did a single point of damage, or moved with the apparent intent to engage at any point during the match.

Face it, you do not have a leg to stand on here. You're arguing out of emotion and demand for revenge and that isn't a valid ground for discipline of any player here since they have done NO WRONG.

I love it when people try to act as if skirmish is such a stupid game mode, while the game of standing in boxes is so advanced it makes chess look like a couple cavemen rolling rocks down hills. Because let's be real here, it's not. It's just a question of what you enjoy or not.

How many times have I seen skirmishers scream and rant over losing by cap and utter such witticisms as "lame" because they refuse to be tactically or strategically sound enough to protect a base? Oh that's right hundreds. I am glad you have the 'Mech Smash!!" game mode. Please stay in there. I'll do my best to stay out.

They did. They fought for however long. Now they are trying to take a kill away from teh enemy. Power to them. Not to your preference. Go get a beer while you are waiting. Kiss your significant other, or hug your child. Those moments will make the wait priceless.

My best hiding job came when an entire 12man walked by my Orion, shutdown in a waterfall... with multiple mechs inside 40m of me. Oh yes... it was painted bright red and Union Pacific yellow too.

Had a similar one and just like you I still remember that day, it was EPIC. Watchers could not believe it either...

Consider how many months people were asking for a game that did away with bases, and it's hardly surprising those people were sick of losing by cap when they didn't even want to have bases. And yes camping close to your own base is really advanced, it takes 12 geniuses to do it. Meanwhile I say: Hulk smash!

No, it's selfish to demand someone else die for your convenience when you promised them 15 minutes of time to play.

Apparently it is too much strategy to handle for some players. Sokay, they can go to the skirmish sandbox.

Personally I dont really mind when they at least might have a plan. When they go find a hiding spot and shut down though then I get irritated.

If you consider playing a game as in standing perfectly still and doing nothing for up to 15 mins, we have very different definitions of what playing a game means. And you might consider that it's could be slightly more selfish of one person to do this kind of "playing" and let all the others in the match be unable to use their mech during that time. Just think about it a minute, it'll come to you.

You mean some feel it's boring to be chained to their base for every game, and would prefer to play without it? Yes you're right.

Sounds more like you say Hulk Sm...., if you are complaining about how someone else is playing while you are dead. Just saying. I die a lot. I die early often, I don't complain how the rest of the team IS playing... CAUSE I DIED BEFORE THEY DID!!! <_<

If every one was as reckless in the game as they're in the forums, threads like this one would never arise...

11 pages...
Time for me to run and power down in a far, far away corner of the "general discussions" section.

As I already pointed out in another post, standing totally still and doing nothing while waiting for the counter to run out is hardly what I consider "playing". Yeah I know, but that's how special snowflake people play! Well it's still wasting everyone else's time either way no matter how you look at it.

Saw one good suggestion. Victory condition completes when 11th opponent dies....

Would force dummies to actually watch out for their team.

Everyone on your team can see your screen so they know if you are still fighting or just hiding. Giving your position away is perfectly appropriate.

The times I have been the last man standing I have NEVER had my grid location reported because everyone on my team can see I am maneuvering for snipes even if I am not actually in combat.

No, that's either a disco or griefing or an AFK and have zero problem with their position being reported. If, on the other hand, they are not found at spawn have walked off and taken damage or dealt damage, they participated. The quality of their participation is NOT a factor in what participation is.

Ah the 'Two wolves and a sheep vote for dinner" philosphy of protecting the rights of others.

Right now, the person who demands another player cede their right to play as they desire is the most selfish.

In case you missed the agreement you make every time you hit launch, it goes like this:

"I agree to allow all of us 15 minutes in which to play a match in the manner we personally enjoy."

If this is not acceptable, don't hit launch.

Quote

Whatever you do... don't play community warfare. That's the entire gameplay for one team right there. And doing the tactically smart thing is not always a thrill ride.

You ever played crisscross? It's a very simple game with very few different things to worry about. I dare you to become great at it, because you know it's so few things to consider.
