I'm trying to get a Founder's package and am unable. I'm an American ex-pat living in Korea. I push the "buy now" button and a window pops up informing me that my e-mail has already been registered. Having not registered there, I attempted to "recover" my password. They said I hadn't registered. Cool. I clicked PayPal, another "e-mail registered" message came. I closed it and proceeded to PayPal. After jumping through all the hoops, it gives me the okay and closes. However, I then am told PayPal rejected the payment. I logged onto PayPal and was told that the payment was denied by the vendor. I'm confused.

You'll find a thread all about the payment problems stickied at the top of the main discussion forum. I hope they can help you.

Good luck. :D

That is, more than likely, the issue. Both North and South Korea have ridiculous internet censorship.

hmm... saying S.Korea and N. Korea have the same censorship shows me you can't help me. I'm getting to the point of just not paying anything at all. Any admin willing to help with me? It'd probably take less than an hour and net the company 30 bucks.

It was troublesome for N.America users off the bat as well. UltimatePay has proven to be a little finicky when it comes to paying, dunno how much luck you'll have paying from overseas. You'll have to wait until the devs are online for them to help you. It's about 1:30 AM here, but once they're up, they'll probably assist you when they can.

Do you have a Korean credit card or a pre-paid Korean debit card that you can use? If your current card's address details do not match your IP's location there may be security procedures that'll stop the transaction from occurring.

Actually he said they both of "Ridiculous censorship" , not the same type of censorship. Compared to America they are both rather draconian, just N Korea is like hell without the fire. Send a e-mail to customer service, and please for the love of god RELAX. We have enough drama on the boards as it is.

I'm glad somebody understood what I said. N. Korea has, I believe, the most insane government censorship of the internet on the planet. While S. Korea isn't nearly to the level of N. Korea, but they are far from having unregulated internet.

Wasn't trying for drama. Just pointing out that the post was off-topic and unhelpful. Yours though, is win. Can I get the e-mail for customer service? I'm thinking that Ben's post is probably close to the truth. I've had problems like this in the past.

Tryck, I'm trying to be nice. Please stay off my thread. Look at my comment and I will show you my meaning.

Sigh.......... anyway, OP have you tried calling your bank? They might be able to help you.

I know on day 1 of the sale some expats had their family members back in the States by it for them because of this very problem.

If your bank can't help you maybe getting a local pre-paid debit card is the best way to go about this.

Since I wasn't overly helpful earlier (While I wasn't trying to be unhelpful...yeah), I did some digging.

Aside from calling your bank, here's the links to support for both MWO and UltimatePay. If neither of them can help you, I'm at a loss.

MWO - http://mwomercs.com/support
UltimatePay - http://ultimatepay.custhelp.com/

Good luck.

Just an update guys. I'm now in America. Worked like a charm. It's definitely an IP problem that comes up for ex-pats in Korea. There are two solutions to this that I know of if you cannot come here.

First, you can contact UltimatePay (Tryck posts for link). Steam was able to unlock my account for oversea purchases.

Second, you can authorize someone else to purchase this using PayPal from the United States by giving them the necessary log-in information.

The hang-up is on UltimatePay's side and is likely deliberate for reasons of international trade laws and such. When you make it a domestic trade, the problem is solved.

You could also have tried a proxy, and a new email address.
