Mercstar came to everyone in that room with a hand extended, but that hand was slapped in response.
Damn shame.

Yeah, ALL UNITS IN MS. What happens if one of those units decides they don't like to vote, and gives the rest of MS a big old middle finger, and refuses to abide by anything the group decided on? Would you let them stay in MS?
When MS was forming, would you have included any unit that openly declared their intention to ignore anything MS as a group decided to do, or any agreements they made?
no CI decided to go kurita for the IS week, and i think aces stayed for one more week of clan, next wed we will all talk again. This is why the groups we work with keep staying together and working as a team, we don't cry when someone doesn't do what we want.

However, to hybrid black -
Nobody has any right to tell anyone to do anything. No government, no military, no law enforcement. What we do is have expectations set by groups with an interest in working to enforce them. That's it. This group has all the same legitimacy that any real life global government has - it has a bunch of people getting together saying 'we've agreed to do X'.
All that's left is is identifying what censure they will use for disruptive elements. This game, being PvP oriented, means you need other players to play against. If everyone flat out refuses to play with you then you're in a bad space. Also the right to mock, deride and express contempt for people and present a unified expression of contempt and derision.
Being organized is not the same thing as being 'elite' by the way. Elite soldiers and mercenaries are trustworthy, reliable, respected and valued by those who employ them and feared by those who oppose them. Being narcissistic and convinced of your own self-worth doesn't make you elite. Winning matches doesn't make you elite. It may make you good at the game, or at least good at organizing players (which isn't necessarily the same as being good).
The question is will this player organization actually take steps and make a process for censuring disruptive elements. Will Marik help keep track of whatever worlds MS takes and let Davion retake them later for example and we will absolutely ignore the Marik border, letting you guys soak up turret drops until you bleed members at the same time every group and faction trashtalks and derides your group, ensuring that most new players who come to the game see MS as a group of total a**holes.
There's a lot of tools in play. You don't need game mechanics to create, maintain and support a group of people. We've actually built social groups long before we had the interwebz and those groups created social expectations and enforced them with nothing more than the tools we have here. All that's at question is if the SL has the balls to try and do so. It is a game but it's a game played by various people, together. We have every right to treat other people well, or poorly, based on their behavior in this shared environment. Same as you do at a public swimming pool - the guy splashing and being a jackass is right to be told to quit splashing and being a jackass, mocked and derided by the other people at the pool.
But you said that hours ago yet we have been fighting 12 man all night..................................... and we will when cease fire is over, and tomorrow night to and the next and next because well we are all here to play and go to where the fights are.

You got removed because you spent a whole bunch of time in the Clans. Not because Marik doesn't trust you, but because we were trying to make the first meeting run smooth. People were claiming you were spies for the Clans (though with Bobf on your team one must wonder). So Roadbeer pulled you from the meeting. He told you that.
If that rustled your jimmies, we're sorry. The first meeting was obviously going to be a bit bumpy but given enough time we can overcome any misunderstandings.
You're all still douchebags though. :3
Some of the unit's that comprise MS do come from the Clans, just like we have IS based unit's that rotate with the other's within the Alliance. Players will join where they will, the same with unit's, the players choice is up to the player, not the social whims of the playerbase.

We would be happy to accept Merc Star as a member of the Star League...
..... If you guys were actually willing to be a part of the Star League and abide by cease fire agreements and faction alliances, instead of blatantly refusing to do so, and openly declaring your intentions not to, and engaging in Clan Ghost Bear insurgent False Flag operations to stroke your epeen and get your tags on more planets.
If you want to be part of any group, you gotta play by the group's rules, otherwise you don't get let in.
Why would we want to part part of group that basically told us to shut up and color?

We know. All rational people realize this. But as you're well aware, not everyone in this game is rational.

Anyway, i strongly believe you should invite PGI as representatives of ComStar. They created a virus that uses an algorythm to screw up the jump patters of our JumpShips' computers. It is doing wonders at holding us from pushing further down toward Terra ..
Not to talk about the logistical and technical sabotage they are conducting among our forces, making our weapons and mechs hotter, less effective and more difficult to use than pretty much any of these so called inferior IS weapons.

You are absolutely FULL OF ****. I explained to you, explicitly along with Tony that I was getting blown up because of the perception that, given your time w/ the Clans, that some thought you were there to disrupt it, we agreed at this time, in the interest of getting things moving, that it would be best if you weren't part of it.
We all had a good laugh about it, you included, and moved on. Even after the meeting, Tony and I discussed it, and a few other things.
At least I know who the honest broker is in MS, and who's the shitposting dramaqueen.

We were surprised and showed up. Notice the near complete lack of total pugs in Davion; low population and all. We can easily just ignore it. If people show up a couple of us pop in, advise them that playing there will involve pugging against 12man units and certain loss, if they want to play with Davion units they go to X.
We've done it before. If someone just wants to drop casual matches, irrelevant of houses, factions, politics or, well, community warfare stuff there's a group queue. Playing group queue style in CW is fine - so long as you understand that everyone else who's there for the whole CW thing can and will use that whole social side of the game.
MS wants to be the people nobody can trust to play to the faction, just a bunch of bros kicking back, running matches, switching factions and screwing up everything everyone else is working on because, well, they don't care about anyone or anything else, that's cool. All on you.
I know some people in MS though and they're cool people. I hope they choose to be cool and actually be people that everyone else WANTS to play with.

Roadbeer this happened after we were removed from the meeting with no explanation, not even asked why we were there, or if we wanted to comment.
I appreciate you trying to explain for everyone else, and this comment wasn't directed at you as opposed to the group, but no one wanted to hear us or even ask us to leave. We were just kicked and had the door slammed on us.

Seriously?
I pulled you and Tony into another channel and spent 5 minutes explaining exactly why I was getting blown up, and even said the words "I mean, it's up to you if you stay or not...".
Spin it how you want, but you and I both know that we were laughing about the paranoia and Tony seemed satisfied that I'd brief him after the meeting, which I did and everything seemed amiable until I find the shitposting on this page.
