Good Eye! These images do not show the Special Geo. (these screens are from testing)

Okay so where exactly is the special geometry? Because there isn't any shown in the screenshots on the NGNG website. And comparing the screenshots of the "special" variants with those of the normal variants one can see that there is indeed no special geometry.

Special geometry appears to be the Misery treatment.

Guess they had a rough time on the Clan front.

We needed a bit more time, so the special geometry is going to roll out a little bit later with the patch on March 3rd. The initial release of the Panther and Enforcer [R] variants won't feature the special geo.
After the March 3rd patch, your [R] variants will automatically feature the special geo. This applies retroactively.

I made sure to confirm that the release of the special geo won't alter any loadout or customizations you may implement between tomorrows 'Mech release and the geo release with the patch on March 3rd.

UPDATE: Can't guarantee it just yet, but I'm hoping we can show you guys some screenshots of the special geometry by the end of the day!

Wait, so Dragon Bowling was canon? Posted Image

Heh. Kinda-sorta. Basically it was a -1 to the required role for keeping your balance after being hit by a melee attack (and depending on other stuff this could also apply to the 20+ damage knockdown roll, too, but that's a GM / rule version basis).
Page 196 Strategic Operations:

Quote

Stable (2 Points)
’Mech designs such as the Dragon are exceptionally stable,
receiving a –1 target number modifier when forced to make a
Piloting Skill roll as a result of a physical attack.

So if the impact was something like piloting skill 4 + 2 for a physical attack (beat 6 to stay standing), being stable would make it 6-1 = 5 that you have to beat in order to remain standing. So it's not a drastic improvement like the Dragon being treated as if it's 100 tons as the game once did (hence dragon bowling), more like treating the 60 ton dragon as if it's 65 to at most 70 tons in terms of a collision to see who gets knocked down.

On the Enforcer.
Page 194 Strategic Operations:

Quote

Fast Reload (1 Point)
BattleMechs like the Hatchetman and Enforcer use large removable
ammunition magazines that allow them to reload much
faster than normal. Units with this quirk can reload in half the
normal time.

The points shown are points up and down, for user-added improvements you're supposed to add flaws, too in which you make the points even.

For example if you have the faster ammo perk that you want to add to just any mech... you could balance the increase with say:
Page 196, Strategic Operations:

Quote

Ammunition Feed Problem (1 Point)
The ammunition feed for one ballistic or missile weapon or bay
has a tendency to jam at inconvenient moments. After making a
to-hit roll, roll 2D6. On a result of 10+ the weapon jams and cannot
be fired again in this battle. On a roll of 12, the new round of
ammunition will explode in the weapon for normal damage. Per
normal rules, Gauss weapon ammunition will not explode, but the
weapon itself does.

Do not push yourselves to hard.

Despite a lot of the posts in the forum, we would rather see it all done well than rushed
(Even if we cannot agree on what "well" means :P)

<snippity>... Enforcer... <snap>

So, confirmed quirks for Enforcer are 20% cooldown for the variant-specific ballistic. If PGI followed lore, it should really be 50%.

I could get behind that. I sure as heck wouldn't want to be in front of it, anyways.

Since more time is required, are you guys fixing the Enforcers head as well?

Good luck with that. Dynamic weapons aside, and the reskins of the founder mechs when they got color changes, I can't think of a single time they've altered the mech models. Just doesn't happen, and I really doubt they'll view the Enforcer head as a serious issue.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it changed. But I'll ************* if they do.

What? Really? I can't say I'll consume my undergarments? The wierdest things get censored here.

The Catapult was changed. Used to be wider. A fix that a large majority of the 'mechs could do well with.

Wider? When? Hasn't changed since I started, at the start of open beta.

I remember them changing the CT hitbox, but not the model itself.

Hunchback-4J lost the MegaHunch when changing weapon meshes were added.

See above, my first disclaimed: Excluding when they added dynamic weapons.

Looking at the Enforcer in the Technical Readout and then at the preview, I can't help but miss its helmet looking appearance. It should be like the head from Twiki from Buck Rogers:

Right now it is more like hood drier from the seventies.

How could you miss the chance of this individual geometry?

Save the Buck Rogers theme for the Urbanmech.

Does well with other good mechs around them but cannot carry a team.

But it's tough!
