But 12 3erppcs thunders against 12 4cerlls timbers - the winner is 12 tdrs. I hope you know why :)
If not - look at placement of hardpoints on tdr. And quirks.

Id love to know what scrubs your facing who bring 12 tdr-9's. Its 10 tdr and 2 ecm spiders, duhhh.

Ps: the 9 with er ppcs are old school meta-bolting. Its all about the 5ss with er ll now...

Here, here! This is historic! We've pulled the system out from the jaguar clutch. Oh they were quite fond of rubbing it in our faces, and now their losses are what we can rub in theirs. An Inner Sphere house that truly launched a successful counter-attack versus the clans! It took mercenary involvement to pull it off but that's what got us here to begin with.

I know this is off-topic and we should be celebrating, but I'd like to humor those interested. This is a graph I made about a month after quirks release. Night's Scorn has been aware of this for quite a while.

What is this graph representing? It is heat-to-damage conversion. A weapon that does 2 damage for the cost of 1 heat is said to have 2.00 heat-to-damage ratio, the same ratio it would have if it did 20 damage for 10 heat. Energy weapons typically are much lower in this stat than ballistics.

How are clans showing less damage than IS? An energy-based timber wolf seldom has fewer than 25 double heat sinks while the Inner Sphere runs out of critical slots well before that. Their weapons may not necessarily be as efficient but they can fire them often.

Why does the green line dip down faster than the others? The Battlemaster ERLL boat (or most any IS mech chosen to use ERLL) has a quirk which extends its range. This quirk does NOT extend falloff distance, so the two numbers are closer together thus a steeper drop.

Wondering where on this graph a 9m awesome with range module falls. At extreme ranges it will be better than the thunderbolt.

It's a common misconception when players discuss quirks. They think 'range' applies to falloff distance as well but it doesn't. No quirk currently in-game affects maximum falloff distance the way that modules do. Weapon default stats always give maximum falloff distance an amount of double the optimal range (with exceptions), and modules maintain this doubling tendency, but quirks do not.

Remember, this graph is showing how heat is spent in order to deal damage. This statistic multiplied by a 'mech's heat-per-second dissipation equals the total maximum potential damage that the mech could do in a game or over time. At those extreme ranges, yes the individual shots from the Awesome are hitting for more damage but the TDR spends less heat per shot and shoots more often so their damage potentials even out.

That's not even taking into account the fact that the Awesome is 15 tons heavier, much slower, and suffers from terrible hitboxes and even worse hardpoints when compared to the thunderbolt's beautiful arm shielding potential and three high energy hardpoints, including two at eye level. It's not even a contest.

Guys I've been proven wrong with regard to mech quirks' effect on range. It turns out that we were studying the ERLL weapon in particular, and its results (which are BUGGED!) were throwing us off, and we made false assumptions based off of studying ERLL in particular. We thought that its maximum falloff range was 1485 for every mech, range quirk or not (1350 plus 1.1x from module) when it in fact seems that its max range is closer to 1499 due to some kind of bug.

CI ran 12 TDR's at us quite a few times, I wouldn't exactly call them scrubs.

It is a bit of a stretch to refer to Clanners as "People", you're correct.
