I thought we'd all need a break from balance, OP, CBills and hitreg discussions for a little bit and talk about what mech in what config that you're all really enjoying? It might not be the mech you're doing best with or it might even be one of your worst right now, but you just enjoy running it because it's the most fun you have! Mine right now would have to be one of my Battlemasters I got from the latest sale, most of all the 3M in a variation of Wubmaster with 6xMPL in the torsos and 1UAC5 and 2xML in the arms. Wubbing those pesky firestarters that are all over the place nowadays right in the face and see them run off with the CT armor gone never gets old. So what is your current happy mech and config?

For Assaults, Dakkawhale. With the usual CUAC5s. I am also experimenting with a Direwhale carrying Penta LB5X along with Mark VII TC, aptly named "Critzilla". Results are promising.

The Jester MK II is also a fun ride.

As for Heavies, I enjoy the laser vomit Timbie for being easy-mode dominator that it is. Also, my Lurmwolf has 49% hit rate with its CLRM10s.

For Mediums, the HBK series. Especially the 4J. Lurming people's faces off and doing Assault level damage each game.

IS?

It's my HBK-4G(F) Hunchback. My Can Opener.
Ac20, 3 Mlasers. Simple, effective. Flank, peektart, flank some more...lay down the hammer. Rinse, wash, repeat til the big gun stop going "BOOM", then run around the fringes pewpewing til either they all die, or I do.

Therapy.

On my alt account, in Clan Mechs, it's my stock SMN-P Summoner Prime. I call it the Wendigo. Ammo is limited, armor, a tad light, and that just adds to the mappy feel, the challenge involved.

SDR-5V,

loadout is 2 ML, XL280, 12 JJs.

not especialy combat effective but great fun non the less,

if I am after something more combat effective for PUG drops I use the SDR-5K(C) stock except for realocated armor, I am about as effective in that as the FS9-E

Cannot get enough of that Centurion AH. AC/20, 3xSRM4's and both cooldown modules. I pretty much always have a good game in that mech.

4 ac2 Jag at the moment. Even without the GH, it's a tad hot, and slow. And can't twist worth a damn with that STD 180 I put in it to cram 8 tons of ammo on with AMS.

But OMFG I love peppering a guy while peeking over a ridge and watching him back back back up to get away from the plinking sounds of a slow slow death. ;)

6CERML 6CERSL Nova with tc 1.

would love to bring it bakc to 12CERML, but the current hitreg does not allow high heat builds where 50% of a shot or more can disappear into nowhere.

Ran a while with a very similar config myself, and it sure is effective. I got bored of it after a while though, haven't run my 3xStormcrows for weeks actually.

the follwing is taken from the Command Chair post about targeting computers:
http://mwomercs.com/...ommand-console/

Quote

In the tabletop game, the Targeting Computer is a piece of Clan equipment that improves the accuracy of the direct fire ballistic and energy weapons equipped on the 'Mech.

....

NOTE: All values are placeholders for example purposes only. Beam weapons include all lasers; projectile weapons include all Gauss Rifles, PPCs, and non-LBX Autocannons.

from thise 2 passages I was under the impression that a targeting computer did not help LBX ACs, however it is possible I am wrong

No, no, you are correct. I feel silly now.

I suppose I have been killing people with placebo bonus crits then. :D

Locust-3M with small pulses. It's the perfect risk/reward 'Mech. Ignore me and I'll tear you apart, chase me and I'll just disappear.

With its ridiculous acceleration it's nearly invulnerable against laser vomits when you do the "stutter step", which accounts for most of the 'Mechs in the field.

My three Highlanders: HGN-732/733/733C

I mainly use the 732 with this config: HGN-732 (Gauss, 3x MLs, 3x SRM6s, JJ, 14x DHS, and STD325)

That looks like a fun build, might try that when Wolverines go on sale again.

I've been loving the 6xAC/2 dakka Crab without the ghost heat. Stock engine, stuffed with ammo and heat sinks. It's still really hot, but god I love spraying mechs in the face with it. Like dakka bukk@ke.

I'm also a big fan of the Cicada 2B with 5xMPL and a XL300.
