For clarification:

Obviously nothing tongue in cheek there at all, I really do think that highly of myself.

Wait, damn, uh, my posting history suggests that that's actually true, this may have backfired.

There are some good merc groups out there, and even the ones I speak lowly of aren't necessarily full of bad people.

I applaud Cameron's Highlanders for being chill dudes and sticking with Kurita and not getting all huffy about NSL nonsense and leaving like some other merc groups have.

I applaud the "Phoenix Legion" for the same points. They fighting, they not discuss and they accept orders from the high council. They making simple spoken a great job and thankful they renew their contract with HK.

So if the Phoenix Legion will move, i hope not but if the will move to another faction, i will miss them. To their new contractor i can say: "Dear Sir, you get a great merc unit, honor them!"

You're right, and I would say especially clan space, though the mercs there seem to be quite loyal.

Hmm. Intredasting...

In case you missed the point, I was talking about literally every post I've ever made on this forum.

It kind of worries me that you haven't figured this out yet, tbh. I guess it must be the Davion Clanner in you.

  • An interesting wormhole deep into Kurita space is available to Marik
  • Marik and Kurita agree to experiment with the wormhole. Maybe it will lead to Clan space?
  • After several weeks, the wormhole simply expands in all directions and does not go north despite testing.
  • The Star League is discussed. Ratification should mean no more attacks between Marik/Kurita/Spheroids
  • During this time, the mercenary unit MS and Marik units continue to expand the wormhole in Kurita space.
  • Kurita declines entry into the new Star League as doing so would prohibit them from attacking fed rats (among other reasons)
  • Kurita also decides that the wormhole project is no longer acceptable as too many Kurita worlds have been taken by Marik than expected/agreed upon
  • Some elements of Marik react in surprise when Kurita wants back the worlds taken around the wormhole and state that this will lead to war between their factions. They then threaten Kurita to withhold support on the clan border and accuse Kurita of being arrogant and disrespectful. And Marik is supposed to be the good guys in all this (pushed for the Star League/NAPs).
Did I miss anything?

Yes.
"Kurita declines entry into the new Star League as doing so would prohibit them from attacking fed rats (among other reasons)"

This is incorrect. Entry into the Star League would not prevent those not wanting to fight the clans from fighting Davion.

"Some elements of Marik react in surprise when Kurita wants back the worlds taken around the wormhole and state that this will lead to war between their factions. They then threaten Kurita to withhold support on the clan border and accuse Kurita of being arrogant and disrespectful. And Marik is supposed to be the good guys in all this (pushed for the Star League/NAPs)."

The Wormhole has nothing to do with pulling support from the Kurita front. Their decision to not join the Star League does that.
Furthermore. Technically as a member of the nSL Davion is an ally. Kurita threatens said ally daily. The true irony is if they joined the nSL there would be permission to continue attacks since the overall goal would remain the defeat of the clans. Not to mention a process would be in place to deal with the Wormhole question. However as an outsider looking in Marik is forced to chose between the Star League and Kurita.

The wormhole issue is separate although related.

Sacrificing territory around Terra not something we should readily do with someone who has not joined with the rest of the Inner Sphere to protect it. Thus far without other houses protection all Kurita has done is Cede territory to the clans. There is no reason to think that wouldn't continue all the way to Earth.

I stand for the council, just not that council.

I'm an extremely valued member of the council of broke brain anime loving neets, and don't you forget it mister.

Remind them of the days when they were charmingly cheeky and not outright rude and derogatory toward the rest of the community, then.

Quoted for truth. The NKVA forum game is only matched by the ingame performance they give me every night, but I alone actually make official statements for us. We ultimately consider Marik our friends and allies, and have worked with them in the past on experimenting with the wormhole. Open theater performances on the forum do not change our stance on any issue, only the DCMS high council's decisions.
