Been on comps since first computers were made, first 1977 ibm clone. Cheating has been around from start. Any person who plays 2 accounts to boost his or her other toon is CHEATING and should be banned. Today it seems no one cares, but it hurts the game. Raising any stat by using your own toon is not part of the game. Seen people run 8 toons at once but they only fought on 1 side. I ran 2 computers in PVP one left hand one right. I could have cheated for 12 years. I didn't, but once people saw the way to cheat, alot did. My old game in it's highest population the 7th year of now a 13 year life. 471 people were banned on 1 day, for cheating. Every exploit the people were taking advantage of in the game, cheating to better themselves without fighting other people or creatures disappeared. The 2 accounts in this game, I bet there are many with 2-8 systems in thier home that are doing some form of hack cheat etc in this game and any others they play, as every game online now have been hacked one way or another

Who's cheating in what? And why? Because the only stats that matter are the amount of planets a faction has. If someone is creating 24 accounts to have a fake 12 vs 12 match to take a sector then I am actually impressed that that person has so much free time on their hands.

Also as far as I am aware personal stats are only tracked in public match games and even those stats are only visible to yourself.

I'm surprised these threads havnt been closed. Any talk of cheating just makes more people think about doing it. If you see it happen report them. If it's just stats and chills.who cares.

You don't seem to realize that it is quite easy for a large well-organized group to coordinate enough of its members to create faux accounts and faux factions to be able to game the system, if they so desired.

I'm not saying that it is happening, or that it is rampant if it is, I am only pointing out that this issue does not involve ONE person creating 24 faux accounts, or just ONE person creating N number of accounts: it is a matter of coordinated efforts amongst 12 or more people that can easily game the system.

Quite easy to do with enough people, and it is just the thing I would expect from Goons or like-minded people, and there is no shortage of them in MW:O. If you think otherwise, you are simply either astoundingly naive or purposefully obtuse.

To say that ANYONE with a 2nd account is runing the game is a over generalization and a BS statement.

No where does it say i am NOT ALLOWED to have more then 1 accounts per IP. What if i have other family members that also play the same game on this computer? Thats not allowed?

You have posted this thread about 4 times in different areas of the forums. It is not getting any notoriety because this is a fallacy at best. You can continue to claim people are cheating but without proof you are doing nothing but making yourself look like a looney tinfoil hat supporter.

Rather then beat around the bush why dont you just say what you think is happening?

Who do you think is cheating? A whole faction? a group? You dont have to name them but for the sake of NOT seeing these post anymore please next time HAVE SOME PROOF before you spout BS about people cheating. If you dont have proof then this is just a hypothetical at best and if thats the case....

To prevent what? What are we so worried about that we need to prevent it? People having more then one account is not against the ToU and isn't an issue PGI wants to stop....

What exactly is your problem? No one is suggesting that YOU personally cannot have a second account for your family members. No one is suggesting that YOU personally is cheating. We are discussing an abstract concept that has grounding in reality based on decades, nay, CENTURIES, of collective gaming experience.

Are you suggesting that anything goes if it has your interests at heart? I ask because it seems that way. Do you condone cheating? If so, why?

If folks have multiple accounts, that's one thing. If they are actively "boosting" with them or flipping planets to their "home faction" that's cheating I agree.

My problem is YOU HAVE NO PROOF of this EVER happening.

How do they game the system? You cant claim its a FACT if you dont have proof to back it up. Its a hypothetical situation at BEST right now.

What is there to gain from it that can't be done normally and much easier?

OF course some people want to "GAME THE SYSTEM" people love to misbehave but just because the world is a scary place doesnt mean PGI wont stop these things if they see it.
