I've tried the cheese lrm5 build but it's nothing special, more annoying than anything.
It's a shame because it's one of the best looking mechs.

the mech is very good, l2p it. it's my second best mech, and its amazing, like a small timber without the OP stamp on it.

Generally speaking, the maddog has the potential to be amazing, but the enormous surface area on its torso's really screws it up.

I didnt think the 'l2p' nerd argument would come out in only the second post. huehuehue

Just because you have a hardpoint doesn't mean you need to put the biggest hottest weapon you can find in it. Don't get greedy. try boating Streak-4s instead of 6s or downgrade a LPL to a MPL for more heatsinks and more ammo.

but MDD can perfectly tank with the destroyed torso side, thats a good deal with how dmg transfer works

yes any day except today, lol so maybe tomorrow we have a birthday I go soon to.
if it's too hot, go to the testing ground and lern the heat pattern, shoot until it runs hot, and recognize how much % heat you can shoot with the volleys you use. Don't try to lern heatmanagement in battles. This is a deadly and pointless way to lern it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're saying it as though losing a torso, with all its weapons and whatever heatsinks you had on that side is a good thing, and I should look forward to it happening as quickly as possible...

its better than losing the CT, so yes, you can better spread damage if you do not twist in 90 degree. and once you lose a torso side you just shield the CT and other orsi with the broke torso side, because damage transfer makes your CT the second etremely tanky component. MDD has plenty of weapons and you are still a good thread when you have half the wepaons left. MDD requires a bit different way to torsotwist.

By comparison my nova is my 2nd best clan mech out of the handful I own with a 3.5 kdr on the 2 novas I own. Finished #4 in the chassis challenge with it. And few people will say this is a good mech. I'm actually starting to like this thing and take it over my Timberwolf more and more!
Just can't seem to find a build I really like on the MDD and consistently do well in.
