Yielding to pressure from delegates from across the Inner Sphere, ComStar has allowed construction of a new capital mall to begin on Terra. The North American city of San Diego was selected to be the site of this new capital, the delegates having deliberately chosen to construct a new capital instead of reoccupying the old Star League capital in Unity City, to further signify the new direction of the new Star League, and a divergence from the mistakes of the old League.

Ground was broken three days ago in a modest ceremony, with more emphasis on rapid construction than pomp and circumstance. The new Star League Mall currently consists of embassy buildings arrayed in a courtyard around Unity Hall, the new grand council chambers. A number of out buildings and additional construction are planned, as well, though ground outside of the grand courtyard has not yet been broken. There is also considerable debate on whether or not to include an embassy for the Clans.

Delegates and ambassadors from across the Inner Sphere are being invited to this new capital to begin conducting the business of the new Star League in earnest. Construction is still on-going, and much of the mall is still incomplete, but several residences and administrative spaces have already been constructed, and today the new capital of the Star League has been declared open for business!

Just saying, but malls are kind of outdated.

I see how dedicated the nSL is. In my mind it must be only a temporary thing if an Enjin site is being used for it. About 5 mins of effort is the worth of the nSL.

We need these, a store dedicated to shippable Marik bacon, lots of dropship parking space (without horrendous parking fees) and a dispensary full of free spicy pepperoni twiggy sticks (which I wont secretly use to load up my dropship and hightail back to FRR space).

Go figure. Soldiers are out fighting in ungodly conditions and politicians divert resources from the front to make sure they have comfortable offices to plan their lunch schedules from...

That's why I'm not loyalist. Politicians pay the agreed price, I'll carry out the contract. Politicians are then free to spend the rest of their nations' C-Bills on the statues they will have constructed in their honor and spend their time in committees deciding just how large and expensive the statues shall be.

(Feels good to be in character, but congrats on the DL)

The DCMS congratulates the nSL on their progress. May your weapons strike the Clans accurately and with great force.

Appreciate the effort and energy in making a home for this. Got to lay a foundation to build anything and generally getting started is the hardest part.

Due props.

Please make sure there's an Arbys in the food court.

San Diego? Cost of living is so high...then again located at a major seaport and plenty of entertainment nearby...

Oh yeah traffic is terrible too... but plenty of nice medical facilities nearby.

As long as you try to get some sort of corporate tax exemption, you should be fine. :)

Actually we all know that in the real future it is San Dimas that proves to be the capital of unity and civilization, where people are excellent to each other.

I think the real reason the politicos choose that location was for the golf course next to the nude beach.
