I support this game and find myself spending money on it. If I had one wish.

Much, much bigger maps. Maps that allow scouting and harassing, to a much greater extend then we have today.

Yep, much much larger maps!

Yea, the maps do feel a bit small for 12 v 12, I think they would be good for going ng back to 8 v 8.

Nuff said.

But.....that is basically pugland.....

its TDM solaris....

but a Solaris arena, where obviously the 1 million you would have made is split among the 11 other derps on ur side.

I like Faction packs that come with camo, colors, and cockpit items. So I've gotten both the recent clan and IS packages.

I wasn't interested in the Urbanmech, since I'm mostly a clan player and I'm getting the Panther already. They're pretty similar in style if not loadout.

I'd probably dish out for a single-mech-package if it was something amazing like the Kodiak.

While a single player or better yet a co-op campaign would be fun. I just don't think they have the resources at this point. CW is still in beta, UI3.0 still has to be made, NPE has to be reworked, plus people are always clamoring for new maps etc...

The problem with PVE is that it would take an enormous amount of resources and time to make and most of us would burn through it in a matter of days. Then begins the whole new flame thread category of moarPVEnow!!1111!1

I think the most bang for their programming buck they could get would be a Solaris style xpax. All the elites would be tripping over themselves for months and months rising and falling through the ranking system.
Not personally my cup of tea, but i know MANY people would love that.

This game needs more depth, not more mechs.

LOL, I think those of us who want the PVE would just play it over and over and over and over again without care to what it is.....ofc, it would have to have a good degree of stompy robots to shoot...

Between my existing MC balance and the upcoming Resistance and Urbie pack I don't think I'll be spending $50 more dollars this year.

One thing, that would be likely 3 times that $50 for me:
A trio of Unseen mechs; Archer, Marauder, WarHammer.

But since that is unlikely to happen

A Single player and Co-Op PVE campaign mode would probably warrant another Grant out of me.

Some of us have spent a lot of money on this game already. Some have spent very little or nothing at all. Whatever the case may be, the game is growing older and I imagine people are spending less now than before. There's people making threads about having 100 mechs, or the 200 mechs club!

What would make you spend 50 bucks on this game if you haven't already, or another 50 bucks if you've already spent >50 dollars.

Keep in mind, I'm talking about spending 50 US Dollars or more. Is there anything that would still make you spend that amount of money on this game? If so, what?

Me, I have all the mechs I want. I'm still hoping that the Shadow Cat, Axman, Mauler and Cougar will make it into the game at some point. But I don't think I'd pay real money for them, at this point. I need Solaris or PVE. Mostly PVE. I think that's the only thing I'd still be willing to pay 50 bucks for.

TL;DR: What could PGI sell that would make you spend 50 US dollars more on this game?

Geometry customization. Either in a package, or as a handfull of cheap and addictive one shots.

Kodiak Pre-order includes Prime variant with Special geometry and Ballistic and energy heat and cooldown quirks, UAC 20 range quirks, +5% speed and turning quirks.

ULTRA AC 20 NEVER JAM LTD MODULE. That makes every bullet look like a flying bear.

Godzilla Warhorn.

******* sold!

Then they just need to create the Firemoth so I can bring 2 Kodiaks into my drop deck.

A 100 ton clan mech with Endo steel, a 400 XL engine, and a fuckton of hard points (12), whoo boy.

Not counting heatsinks, the Dire Wolf has 55.5 tons of pod space, the Kodiak has 42.5. But the speed, it's a god damn Bear coming down the mountain!

I'd pay 50$ for 3 Fire Moth's, the Prime (I), the D, and one more of their choosing.

I'd also pay 50$ for the Arctic Cheetah, Prime (I), and two others, really don't care which ones.

I obviously can't speak for you and i hope if fact most people would feel that way, but i think it's unrealistic to think that most people (especially new players, not BT fanatics) would repeat the same content endlessly.
Look at any MMO, the biggest problem that genre has is trying to make content faster then people get bored of it.
What keeps me coming back here is the unpredictability of PVP, it's different every time you do it.
A campaign would be nothing more then a nice temporary distraction, though it would be good to help retain NP.

They made an FPS not a single player RPG. That ship has sailed, at least until they've fixed and added EVERYTHING else possible to the game. Then maybe the siphoning of resources may be possible.

Finalize quriks 100% as to what weapon quirks are added on each mech. Changing percentages is fine, but switching out SRM quriks for PPC quriks on a varient is unacceptable.

Optimize performance. Seriously no excuse for my rig to drop under 60fps.

Stop rushing the art teams. The mechs have been getting sloppy, blocky, ugly as hell art work. Do not want.

Abandon the timeline and cannon B.S. the games far enough along, and you've already deviated from canon on a few things might as well throw it out the window completely and balance the game properly.

Fix my YLW cannon. I'm not paying another **** into this game until my right arm ac20 is restored to its firmer glory.

Regardless of what PGI decides to do it will be a while before I spend more money after recently buying 1 year premium, Wrath, and Urbie packs.

However, I really would like more game modes. Whether it's PvsE or more variations of team deathmatch. I like CW on occasion but not sure will be my thing as I don't play in a unit. I would rather have some more variety in pugland.

Hard question after the TW fiasco I said you can forget me spending any more money.

But looking deeper there are two sides to this coin

1) it is extremely hard for a company to come out with a winning PC game just look at all the great gaming companies that went under (like micro prose) we should support great games/companies
2) Not having a game in hand after I spend money is a little hard to do, before MWO I had absolutely no desire to play on-line

Give me single player with campaign and I would pay $100 for that (strike eagle 3 was like $70 back in the day)

But in the short term since I know single player is a pipe dream this is what would like

1) Dual account modification one for Clan one for IS (that way I can buy Clan mechs)

2) T-bolt hero Mech (one that will make claners cry)

3) Build your own Mech pack (I want T-bolt hero, gargoyle, and ice farter)

4) Buy the extra module slot for MC

I really had fun with my Victors. Back when we had Jump Jets. It would be tempting to pay $50 to get my jumps back.

I'd even be okay with leaving reticle shake on during flight, both powered and 'free-fall'. I rarely jump-sniped with 'em. I used them for positioning and turning while engaged at close range. Good times....

I have thoroughly enjoyed the game since beta, and bought every package at max level (except for the Griffin/Wolverine when they were added to Phoenix, which I now regret, and a Gold Clan package, which I do not regret).

Odds of spending another $50 are 100%, provided...
  • They continue to introduce new Mechs (I'm committed to buying every Mech package that comes out, whether the Mechs are exciting or not, because I enjoy the game and I'd like for PGI to remain profitable).
  • They continue to introduce new maps (I'm disappointed that Mining Collective was dropped - I never had a problem with it, but I understand others did).
  • They remain committed to balancing (quirks, mech sizes, weapon ranges/damage, you get the idea)
  • They continue to have sales. While I'm happy to spend money on the game, I do have an aversion to spending more than someone else to get the same content. That's why I have a tendency to buy MC when it's on sale, and Hero mechs when they're on sale. I also don't spend MC on anything available for C-Bills.
However, in contrast to that, here are the things that would get me to eventually quit...
  • Community toxicity - This has improved and doesn't seem to be a problem like it was a year ago
  • Poor sportsmanship in games - Intentional team-killing (it's rare, and I haven't been a victim of it yet, but I've seen it happen to others).
  • Poor communication from PGI - Russ has been awesome since the split from IGP with regular posts on this site & twitter, so I hope he keeps it up.
  • Poor balancing - I think Paul gets an unfair amount of hate from players due to the ghost heat implementation, but frankly something had to be done to avoid the one-shotting of pristine mechs, and I think he did the best he could on that one. Maybe ghost heat isn't great, but it's a lot better than doing nothing, so I'm glad he did it.

ive dropped about $70 on this game. this is way more than what i spent on any other game, ever, and frankly its a bit too much. especially when you consider there are only like 4 or 5 (cw counter attack barely counts) game modes and way fewer maps than most multiplayer arena games ive ever bought.

the only thing this game gets right is the mechs. but this is at expense of good maps, good gameplay and overall enjoyability. they got everyone stuck in the skinner box giving you as little as possible to get you to spend outrageous amounts of money on exclusive content that ultimately doesn't add anything to the game.

that said they would have to do much better to make me feel that money already spent was not wasted, then they would have to make this the best mech game ever to get me to spend another dime.
