At first I thought the Panther piloted like a real pig. I still think it does but it can be managed. Had some real fun games with the Panther. Little guy packs a punch when yu move away from the stock setups.
The Enforcer is also potent. Not as fast and easy to pilot as the Vindi, but the usable ballistic hard points give it a wallop. Especially the LB-10X prime chassis. The dual UAC 5 is going to be tricky and the XLs hurt the survivability, but I had a fun time piloting these mechs so far.

The 9R can do the Vindicator-esque dual PPC build, so it should at least be a usable jump sniper. Jump sniping with nerfed PPCs isn't easy (not even with +40% velocity) and the minimum range will bite you. But you can have good games with it if you practice.
The one that really intrigues me, though, is the 8Z. Triple Large Laser with ER-L range, -25% duration, and good heat seems like the core of a genuinely useful ranged skirmisher. You lose the ECM and high mounts of the Raven 3L, but you gain jump jets and considerably higher damage output.

I've died a total of once in these mechs across my 10 or so games, 8-9 of which were wins. It is by far my most effective and most survivable mech of all 64 I own-- alas, the LBX one even puts my Centurions and Hunchbacks to shame!

At least the clans and IS are finally balanced. IS can do slow light mechs now too!

Gaussvomit is good on the 4R too, I feel it is really the strongest variant by far. 5P seems to be the weakest, it can't really handle the 2 UAC5 well within it's weight and other options are very limited.

Edit:
Okay, I think I'm nearly about to call it DOA. There is a mech in the game that does every task it can, only better.
This is the IS version of the Mist Lynx. It's a lost cause. 8(

It's pretty awesome at doing a side jump arm poke at range. It definitely is at home on the canyon. It'll be a beast once mastered.

I can believe that about the ERPPC even with heat quirks, but the 3xLL? I used to run that on my Cicada, and with the ghost heat for LL increased to 3 and a built-in 25% reduction I would have thought 3xLL would be cool runnings.
tonnage really limits you on the 3 LL. Slow.
