That's like worrying about memory constraints. Unless the engine or PGI's servers can't handle it, it's probably only going to be an issue for a very small group of people trying to run the game on dial-up toaster ovens. And there should be an option to disable it and not use that bandwidth in the first place. Also, just having a quality level in the options menu, for both up and down would be a good idea.
