The idea that Marik went to war with Kurita over some forum posts is pretty silly. It's like saying a couple got divorced because the guy always left the cap off the toothpaste. It wasn't about the cap on the toothpaste; it was about one of them having nothing but utter contempt for the other and very different priorities.
Someone else said 'well if you loaned someone your torque wrench and asked him to give it back, wouldn't you expect him to do so?'
Better analogy -
A friend comes to you to borrow a torque wrench. He's got this project car he's trying to get done and it's very, very important to him. He needs to get it done soon and needs to borrow your torque wrench, so you loan it to him and say 'sure, no problem. I'll want it back at some point but yeah. Good luck with that.'
Then 2 weeks later while he's in the middle of his project you tell him you want the torque wrench returned, immediately, or you'll call the police and report it stolen. Oh, and you tell him he's a bad mechanic and an idiot and should fail at everything he's ever tried because that's all he deserves. When he asks you what your problem is you explain that you find insulting someone funny and he needs to get over it because if you find it funny so should he. Except the torque wrench bit, you have no use for it or need for it and are out of town on business but if he doesn't give it back NOW you're calling the party van. Cuz f**k his project. Then finish with 'Hey, for christmas I'd like it if you get me a Barbie Dream Home. We're good friends, you should get me stuff for Christmas. Right good buddy? I'm not in a place to buy you anything but don't you want to be the giving sort?'
I would expect him to drag his feet and think I'm a complete and total a**hole and want nothing good to happen to me in the future, because it wasn't just about the insults - it was that I treated him with absolute and abject contempt.
I would love to see a list of everything Kurita has done for Marik to warrant their being allies. Not that I'm not totally biased; however this one was so obvious from day one. As soon as Marik started really focusing on going to fight the Clans this one was brewing.
In your analogy here, MS is the 3rd neighbor that breaks in Marik's house to use the "torque wrench" without anyone's permission. Clearly you can see how the original loaner of the "torque wrench" would be uneasy about getting their property returned. If you borrow something from someone and they ask for it back, you either return it or ask to keep it longer. If they say "No" that means return it. Don't be a douchebag and refuse to return something that doesn't belong to you because "you deserve it more".
Marik is that shady neighbor that calls and says "hey come over and pick up your wrench" and then isn't home to return it. After Kurita calls repeatedly and Marik either doesn't answer the phone or makes a myriad of other excuses Kurita comes knocking on the door. Marik then opens the door and starts swinging the wrench wildly like a madman. Luckily Kuita is schooled in the art of war and beats the **** out of Marik, leaving Marik a sobbing, bleeding mess. Davion is hiding in the bushes recording everything on an iPhone 6 screaming "WORLD STARRR WORLLLD STARRRRRR". Liao is the elderly neighbor concerned for the well being of both parties and calls the police.
