perhaps. or maybe like take cover and jump backwards to avoid it.

or just make it far more effective to use them, like with the flamer troops who get hit could ignite other troops ect, machine gun cone of fire being unpredictable and thus troops would have a much harder time dodging.

Human beings with reactions that allow them to dodge laser fire? erm... Einstein might have a thing or two to say about that

I mean they would see you twisting your torso or arms, not like the beam of light is hitting the ground and spraying all over.

It's kinda hard to dodge a continuous, unending hitscan deathray.

I'm not saying that one laser would have the same overall effectiveness against soldiers as one Flamer, what I'm saying is that lasers could end up being "good enough" against infantry while being exponentially superior against all other target types as well.

Meh, if we every get 4 player coop PVE, make an Infantry Mower build on an Adder....

Flamer in the head, flamer in the torso, flamer in the gyro, flamer in the arms, flamer coming out of hte toes....just flamers everywhere!!!!

#Q29: MATRAKA14: Can we expect any fixes in the near future for the catapult extra launchers and the small k2 ppc barrels? If not can at least have back the old lrm 15 launchers for the A1 and C1? And can we expect the return of the 140 degrees torso twist for the chassis? they were changed to 120 degrees in the past.

A29: David working on this... Cataphract done(hoping March 3rd), Jager for March 3rd.. all old mechs being attack. 4 or 5 still in the queue. Then revisit worst offenders.

Cataphract and Jager sound like fixing what ain't broke.
If there is something wrong with them (which I doubt) it seems to me they should be a lower priority than fixing the poor Catapults. This IS the worst offender.

The "arms" on the K2 are as big as the missile boxes on the C1, for no reason. I don't see the barrel size as the problem. It's the rest of the arm. Why is it so damn wide?
The Catapult is still a CT on legs. I don't see them very often, and I think it's because players recognize it as being fragile.

The Catapult is still a bigger target than the 85-ton Stalker, which is pretty silly.
I don't know about the software PGI uses to "draw" mechs for the game, but in Autodesk Inventor it's pretty easy to re-scale an object. Just rescale all the Catapult components the same amount, so it has the same volume/ton as the Stalker.

What is PGI doing with Cataphract geometry? Making it change appearance according to what weapons you put on it? Meh.
I'm baffled as to how that's a higher priority than fixing what's broken on the Catapult.

I'm not the only one who thinks so, and we're going to keep harping on it until it's fixed: The add-on missile boxes on the Catapults made a pretty mech ugly. Please fix.

#Q36: Are collisions coming back?

A36: Unfortunately no. the developers working on other things.. LFG.. laser hit detection.. lots of other things more important at the moment

How about PPC and autocannon hit detection? They're way worse than lasers.

How about my mech teleporting and changing direction several times a match?
I used to think this was a side effect of the server resolving contact with another mech, but now I'm seeing it without any other mechs around.

#Q45: Paul and Mike want to know if they can have tomorrow off?

A45: No

OK, I can agree with this answer. :P
