What are you talking about, go in a BJ-DC and test it you'r self , it has a range of 844 , and yes the max range is capped but it has a bit more effective range meaning a bit less damage dropoff , also the BJ-DC has very high mounts, now can easily carry 3 ERL with short burn duration, point being that if used right it is a better lasr sniper than what the clans have.
The stalker is a 10t igger than the TW but so what, it has more armo , can run a standard. Why are you complaining about IS and Clan having different mechs performing different jobs?
If the clan deck for sniping has a stormcrow and a timberwolf , than an IS deck has a BJ-DC and a stalker 4N 130 both ways..

Edit: The Stalker 4N still has the 10% extra energy range, so yes it's at 810 ERL wich seems kinda fair, bare the fact it can carry up to 6 with high mounts and a bunch of heatsinks :) .

Uhm what? where was i complaining? i was pointing out to clanners that they can build sniper mechs just as good or better.....

tdr-5ss and blr-1s can both get 912m effective range btw.

Also a std is engine has no particular bonus over a clan xl engine.. less u have ct or head mounted weapons.. and even then.. meh.

Roll stormcrow.. laugh as you take 3x damage than most mechs of your class while retaining speed and firepower.

The std engine point is there that those IS mechs can be built and not be IS XL glass cannons , as most IS mechs to compete with clan firepower and movement speed need an XL.

With at TC7 and level 5 module, the Clan ER LL is 870 meters, not 925.

Um. You might want to recheck your math there bubba -

CERLL range 740 (1480 max)
CERLL range mod (maxed out) adds +10% range
TC7 adds (amongst other redonk advantages) +15% range

740m +25% = 925m, not 870m

The whole concept of ranged combat where you cannot even see your opponent if you do not have a zoom module is just boring like hell. It is like whack-a-mole and nothing else.

You may want to check the equipment you're pulling numbers from there, friend.

TC7 gives 7.5% range. I made no calculations, I put the module and the TC7 in a mech and checked the range in game.

Issue being that TC7 is seven tons and 7 slots, I've only ever installed one once, and you need a Warhawk or Whale to have enough pod space.

I based the info off this official post

Targeting Computer Mk VII

Weight: 7 tons.

Slots: 7 slots.

Zoom distance: [+7.5]%

Sensor range: [+7.5]%

Time to gather target info: [-75]%

Projectile weapon projectile speed: [+15.0]%

Beam weapon long ranges: [+15.0]%

Beam weapon max ranges: [+15.0]%

Increased crit chance for projectile and beam weapons: [+25]%

If this was changed afterwards, I was not privy to it.

Edit: And found the thread with the updated TC info. TC7 does indeed only increase range by 7.5%

I can't stand Night Scorn. They are positively the most bull headed unit of any unit in MWO. They run good mech builds when they should be running LRM's and hiding. They use, wait for it...wait for it...yep...SUPER CHEESE....THEY USE TACTICS. (I don't even know what a "Tactics" is but I hate them for it and I hate them for my ignorance). I even have heard that they use Teamwork. Yeah. I said it. Well, I typed it, and you read it, with my voice narrating inside your head. Same thing (but different). They are the worst. CW was perfect until Night Scorn joined.

They have ruined mech balance, they ruined map balance, they made IS mechs too tough for Clans and Clan mechs too tough for IS, and they made dropping in a PUG group the worst, period, experience, period, EVER, period. So when you ask me why CW is the greatest game mode ever I don't know what the #**# your talking about. Yosemite? Night Scorn. They are the worst.

Was it always this way? No. We used to post for moral reasons, we argued and wrote counter-points for moral reasons. We waged war on Trolls, we didn't go around Trolling people, and we didn't scare so easily. Intelligent posts used to inspire us, we didn't feel feel the need to belittle them. We were able to be all these things and do all these things because we were informed....by great Forum Posters, Forum Posters who were revered. The first step in solving any problem is realizing there is one. MWO CW is not one of the greatest game modes in the world. But it could be. If we destroy NS.

How dare you. How DARE you accuse Night Scorn of using Tactics and Team! You go too far man!!! Take it back!!! Such slight shall be avenged!!! *cries*

It's interesting seeing the dragons trying to defend their sniper mechs, I think it's nerf paranoia. They know they nerf is coming, eventually, and are trying to desperately to pretend the advantage isn't there.

It's pretty obvious though,
IS. 27 damage at 911 meters with 20.4 heat - from higher energy mount. (3 er- large)
Clan. 22 damage at 814 meters with 20 heat - from lower energy mount - and additional burn time - thus greater mech exposure.. (2 er large.)

And there we have Kurita screaming at the top of their lungs that there REALLY ISN'T a tech advantage. Honest, You should totally believe them and not look at the math or the way the mech relates to terrain. Totally don't do that, it might poke holes in the "narrative."

Weapon quirks need to go.

LRMs are meant to hit the targets? well chit I have been using them wrong this entire time, I use them to distract opponents. I don't care if they hit because roughly 85% of my opponents (IS or Clan) tend to duck for cover when they hear that Missile warning giving me and my allies time to get within Brawling range.

Ah, the Chaos LRM strategy.

Maybe weapon quirks can go if they also give the IS access to clan XL engines and clan weapons.

As far as engines go clans do not even have access to XL or even regular engines. We are stuck with the ones that came with the mech. So suggest PGI give you clan tech that we clans do not even have mechlab access to is quite amusing.

Right, so you're saying you just want your mechs to be straight up better in every meaningful way. Got it.
