First off, let me say this as a Confederation member:

We like Marik. We like Kurita. We detest Davion.

It is in our best interests that our friends do not start killing each other and instead have secure borders with a mutual ally- that is, us.

Consider who would benefit most from the League and the Combine being at each other's throats and who would suffer.

The FRR, hanging by a thread. One more serious enemy distracting their allies and it will cease to exist.
The Federated Suns- who having been laid prostrate before the Concord, will lick any boot and make any deal to avoid being exterminated like the backstabbing rats deserve.
The Clans- as the two nations providing the greatest resistance to their rapacious advances (please, don't even let me compare them to the sluggish plutocratic "leadership" in the Commonwealth) are forced to divide their forces again to deal with one another.

War between the Combine and the League only serves the base desires of a brigand in noble's colors and a pack of megalomaniac barbarians with delusions of being the Star League of old.

Although this was a sincere proposal, we fully expected Marik to attack us any way as soon as they have an attack lane open. There are too many sore feelings from the recent wormhole closure. The DCMS will hold true to our word and not be the first to strike. That's not to say that we can't take a Davion planet to open up an attack lane for Marik.

And the petty BS continues IS diplomacy at it's best right here, loads of accusations no real proof except for what people say which isn't reliable in the slightest, but that's Just an ex-clanners point of view. At least wanderer from the Confederation(who I utterly despise) seems to be a voice of reason and everyone else's points got lost in the BS.

Wanderer, I sincerely appreciate your efforts at between our two houses but it seems there are elements within your own house that are not so neutral.

LOL

We won't be the first to strike, we'll just keep talking ****, and dictating terms to the Inner Sphere from on high.

Someone's been reading the Clan Wolf forums and decided "Hey guise, let's be like them"

You don´t say? So you knew your arrogant and condescending OP wouldn´t work.
Hm, so what could possibly be the purpose of this thread?

Blame game. That´s it. Nothing else.

Since you guys are infallible you need an excuse why you couldn´t stop the clans. That you ignored them for months and spat on those who tried to do something about it cannot possibly be the reason, no someone else needs to be blamed.

---

You guys played House Marik. Well done. I was furious. Not at you. At Marik command that let itself be played like that. And now you do not even stand up for it, but try to claw your way back up the moral high ground.

This is weak.

No one gets what you are saying, played? What? The only thing we played was the game. Spat on the help? How did we do that? We don't need an excuse for anything. If we don't have the numbers to fight the Clans that is excuse enough. Its not possible. If you want to see how weak and incapable we are then go ahead and scrim us.

You can call it an excuse if you like but a massive war with Marik is a more than valid reason to give the clans zero resistance. The same voices from Marik will try to blame Kurita when Terra falls as they call for war now. This will only further legitimize our decision to refuse to join a fake star league intent on ruling the Inner Sphere.

Anyway, we've made our announcement on our official stance. I won't be replying to this thread any more as it's devolving into **** flinging at this point. I guess we can let our actions talk from this point on.

So you couldn´t seduce Liao to your side. Despite your charme offensive. Not surprising.

As soon as there is going to be a border some Pugs are gonna attack anyways and you will spam the forums with outrage. If House Marik has sanctioned anything or not. So you fight desperatedly for moral high ground. Think that will turn over the Liaos?

I repeat: Ha ha ha ha

Sidenote: There is a Bear in your backyard.

There are elements in all of our Houses that are so hungry for war that they will bite whatever comes nearest. Whether we learn to muzzle them or not is the difference between civilization and the mongrel packs of dogs we regularly crush on the Periphery.

Does anyone here think that a FIFTH Succession War is sane? Because if Marik and Kurita go to war, that's what you have. A war, while a crazed pack of almost-humans bred for nothing but ceaseless aggression and destruction climb over your crumbling walls and prepare to end one of the greatest symbols of diplomacy between rivals, the FRR.

Please. Go that last step. You can declare batchalls and everything as you fight for nothing but the sake of more fighting, just like the filth now polluting the Inner Sphere. I'm sure the Clans will applaud as they watch their own propaganda proven in every pile of burning wreckage you produce killing each other, until they can tie their slave-cords around the wrists of whoever's left. Surely, they will say, the Combine and the Free Worlds League are two mongrel dogs, playing at being civilized until one treads on the other's tail and then goes for his throat. No better than pirates, seeking only loot and slaughter.

Are you dogs, or men? Do we follow the way of the fools who think all the Inner Sphere is merely a Solaris arena writ large, that they can dance their machines through, uncaring as the C-bills flow and the cities burn?

Those who desire only war on every border are no different than the very Clans the League detests and the Combine abhors. They are the enemy of the State. To a citizen of the Confederation, the State is his father, as the Coordinator is the loving parent of the Combine. To propose such mindless bloodshed is beyond treason, it is the act of a sinful child who would slay his own father, because he is not allowed to "play" by pulling the tail off the family cat or walk about the yard of his neighbor, stabbing their children with a kitchen knife.

What do you fight for? Do you fight because you hate? Because you wish to control a neighbor who you have lived with in peace for decades? To kill for the sake of killing?

The Confederation fights for the love of it's life, for it's freedom from the chains of the Suns, to remove the indecency of those who would found an empire based solely on conquest. We kill to destroy our oppressors, that others will not live in terror and pain when they inevitably strike again.

You who are in the League- do you believe the Combine looms above you to enslave your worlds? Or the Clans? One you would only have the excuse of hatred to battle, the other is an army dedicated to the destruction of society and it's replacement with a tyranny even Hanse Davion would have never imagined possible in his most frenzied of dreams.

You who are in the Combine- where is your duty strongest? A quarrel fanned by mercenaries to drum up business, or a war with the nation that intended to consume your own a decade ago and to protect your citizens from Kerensky's demented idea of civilization? The Jaguars and Bears are there to be hunted and cherish your distraction from duty as worlds fall.

You who are in the Confederation- are you so bored that the only game you play is seeing if you can poke the Dragon and the Eagle with sticks until one claws at the other? Shame. Kill filthy Clanners with the FRR. See through the ruse of Davion's "Oh, I am so weak- I shall lay here fighting Kurita and Marik simultaneously and be the pathetic unworthy opponent of Liao." and crush them as well, before the viper bites at your distracted heels.

Dictating terms to our neighbors, and drafting long "official" responses seems to be a thing Marik and Kurita share.

I feel like House Davion is the closest IS analogue to Clan Wolf, personally.

They started with a massive abundance of players, including some strong ones, then the RP shitheads got all uppity on the forums and started lambasting their own players for doing things that other players didn't like, and now they have no players and are widely considered the weakest faction in their respective tech base.

For Clan Wolf, it was the hardcore roleplayers hating on mercs and anyone else they thought was dishonorbru. For Davion, it was random white knights beating on anyone who didn't fall into line with the AFFS high command. Both factions also had a sizable group of players who made a bajillion threads about nerfing Mercs into the ground to prevent them from "faction hopping" and "ruining the game", which didn't help their public image among the roving merc hordes.

Now that they've been sufficiently humbled (and had vast swathes of their territory eaten), they're desperately trying to get their players back into CW while playing the diplomacy game to keep stronger factions off their backs. It's working about as well as can be expected for both factions. Not well, per se, but everyone's too bored of hitting them to finish them off.

You can tell I'm being somewhat serious because I called them House Davion and not Clan Golden Zergling.

Most of the time 'RP' factions are pretty weak, since they base their skill off of a PVE experience.

Except Russian Clan Wolf. Those guys seem pretty hardcore.

I missed all the early drama. Was just dropping, shooting faces. Affs command is good people - never seen them flip out at anyone.
