It doesn't. It just makes the bits that aren't obscured stand out more.
It's possible and in fact it's fairly common for mechs to be completely undetectable from above when they're standing near trees or those giant leaves on Viridian Bog.

Ah, thanks. I guess I'm just use to seeing those bits, and my brain subconsciously filling in the rest for me. So, what you're saying is, we already have concealment?

I wish those clutches of trees in Caustic Valley were solid ...all large/mature trees to be honest. It's so unimmersive to run through them like ghosts.

Again, if your sensors still give you a red triangle that says "target me, I'm here!" than it's not really concealed, is it?
