Haha Bullet, I was thinking the same thing. :D But maybe after I master the Enforcers.

Not easy to work on new mechs when everyone is going for the kill+assist.

Not until you have premium time me thinks

This event is much more do-able and far less frustrating.
The ease in pressure plus the low light queue has given me some time to reacquaint myself with my SDR-5K

Appreciate the event (who doesn't like a free mech), here's a whinge though. Wave 1 pre-order people already received the Hanging Item and Camo as part of the pre-order. Understand having dupe cockpit items, how about switching the camo?

Idk about the camo, but isn't having multiple cockpit items good? Even more so if it's free? That way you wouldn't have to switch stuff around your mechs. I know i don't, too lazy to do so

What I'm finding is that, with this formula...nobody seems to care about winning. There's a "all I need is a kill and an assist, so it doesn't matter" kind of attitude I find.

What it tells me is, no matter what scoring formula PGI tries to roll out...it will turn the players into jars of dumb jelly, and they will then proceed to pour themselves all over the battlefield.

People getting their 1 kill, one assist, and abandoning the match is really dumb... If I got a kill, then I am on a roll and want to keep wrecking face to get those Cbills! I always ALWAYS need Cbills haha. And wins give a huge amount more than losses.

I would like to see some future events that use MORE criteria for points, like multiple ways to get points that some others have suggested. Even stuff like capping a 2-3 points gives a point. Or some way to give points to tanks, like get over 400 damage and have less than 50% of your mech left. But if you give multiple ways to earn points, and then let people get multiple points in a match, it would encourage people to play different roles, play well, and stick it out to the end.

Just an idea. I am happy with this event as well though.

Soooo.... Every weekend you do this players abandon the defense of the FRR and the FRR dies that much faster.

Any upcoming challenge built for CW? Encourage people to play it. Maybe a Tukayyid event? Or a defend the FRR event? :)

I was just thinking this myself, the last CW event/challenge they had was before CW was fixed up, so it was a bit miserable. As a Pugger that works/sleeps during peak CW hours, it would be nice to have an event that would allow me to get in CW matches quicker during non-peak hours.

I'm seeing people jump in between me and mechs I'm shooting at to block kills.

Timber Wolf today, who had 5 kills, did it to me 3 times in one match. And I'm not the type to shoot a teammate in the back with a UAC/20, so I held my fire...but by the 3rd time, I was tempted, boy was I tempted.

Plain and simple...the Kill requirement turns people into unmitigated ********. Period. And it's killing the "fun".

The 50 games with a kill is a killer grind though, lot of work for a free mech for people with less than avg free time. I need to hire someone to play while i sleep lol

I cannot describe, the level of frustration I'm feeling right now with this game. This is the first time I've really felt this way while playing it, and I just feel entirely fed up. Need to spend my time on a different game this weekend I think. <_<

I try to think they are just trying to charge in to get the kill, not necessarily "blocking" me.

This is how I play the situation:
1) If I have a kill already, then no big deal, they can have the kill.
2) If I do not have a kill, and I have been actively engaged with the target, then
2A) If I am lining up a shot (aka more of an alpha strike) I will either try to sneak it in around them, or just hold off firing.
2B) If I am chain-firing/constantly laying down fire (AKA chain-firing lasers/AC5's in a constant and easily visible stream) I will keep on firing right into their back and not feel bad about it.

The 2B option happens a lot when I am in my KGC's. I run a 4xLPL build that I chainfire, and a 4xAC5+2xAC2 build that is constantly vomiting dakka. Both of these are very visible that I am laying down constant fire, and if you walk into that constant fire, you pay the price.

Thanks for the free Adder PGI!

The only frustrating part of this event is watching a spider or some light get a kill / assist, then shutdown and D/C... Then we all have to sit and watch until the other team or our team finds them >.<'

I just used my DWF-Prime(G) for all the games I played tonight.

Woah, by removing the win condition, things have changed a lot in game! Yesterday night i played like 30 matches, and i had fun in all of them!
With this formula i'm seeing lots of dinamic matches, with nice brawls and diversive actions don by the faster mechs. Finally a challenge that doesn't translate in a lurmfest or sniperfest :D.

And the chance to win a color? Just awesome :D

Seems impossible for people with some other life than gaming only after playing for 2,5 hours I've got only 9 qualifying matches (around 50-60% of those that I played) so I'd need 15 hours game time over weekend to get Adder.

That, is the exact opposite of what I'm experiencing. And now, just now, after getting stuck on a piece of terrain, and then LRM'd to death in a matter of 15 seconds while I was trying to unstick myself, only to have the game crash when I tried to exit the match? I have no words.

We must be playing a completely different game. I keep getting "almost kills". Blasting the hell out of a mech over and over, only to have a stray shot from the LRM boat in the back get the kill. Or the Light who runs up and taps it with a SL,

I've tried so many different Summoner Loadouts, ranging from LRMs, to Streaks, to UAC20 based, and I can't find the winning combo that let's me get the kill before someone sneaks it out from under me. I've tried to many tactics, hanging back behind the pack, only to see them settle in to camp while we get sniped and LRM'd to pieces, or trying to lead a charge, only to have only a few to none of the team follow and I end up dying alone. Trying to flank and pick at targeted mechs, only to have the team inexplicably split into 3 different groups to chase squirrels and whatnot. Nothing, is working.

I'm at 8 qualifying out of 30 matches, and for the first time, can say, regretfully, and honestly, that I'm hating playing this game.

man... started playing for about 2 hours now...

with this rate... i'm going to need about 150 matches... with wait times mid match.. and considering i disconnect as soon as i die or qualify. I'll need about 7 minutes per match. that will be 17.5 hours of non-stop play time.
can it be done in 2 days?... impossible.

I hate these so called tournaments which are actually just grindfests. As has been said countless times the kill condition is a big problem. People play like jerks kill stealing, blocking, not actually working as a team. They need to use the points based system which encourages more team play. The events are also run for too short a time period. They need to be run over at least 5 days since a lot people can't devote the number of hours needed to get the rewards.

Sadly, I think this event does indeed bring out the worst in players. More so than the last, much complained about challenge, people do not only eagerly seek to get their kill and assist, but they also quickly loose interest after getting those, oftentimes even outright disconnecting. There are some great matches, though, but overall I don't see an improvement over last weekends challenge with the "win"-condition.

Additionally, I, running light mechs, see plenty of time absolute pathetic performance from whole assault lances (there are exceptions!) which makes me wonder if people get into assault trial mechs, running for a few alpha strikes, sweeping one or two enemies and then call it quits.

As always, those are only my thoughts and I thank PGI for giving away free stuff and to try to adjust the rules according to feedback. Maybe match score next time?

Dunno what to say man. I'm using a wubshee and a cn9-ah, and i've got 20 points out of 30 matches. and usually, if i don't get a point, is because i die really soon.
