Plain as that.

I have just seen an enforcer destroy a stalker, a commando a trebuchet all by himself as the last mech in a fight.
Can't be right,

Please tell me you have more "evidence" to support this claim.

Which one were you piloting?

And they were all fresh. And better players.

Right?

I like the Enforcers, although I don't have any. I have killed a few over the last few days and they can take a pounding. I have yet to be killed by one, though.

Can't be right,

Actually with energy weapon its perfectly ok for that to happen given sufficient piloting skill. On paper mecha A can have half the armor, damage output as mech B and mech A can still kick but....

Can't be right,

Pilot > Mech. Plain as that.

The difference in power between different mech types is far smaller than people like to think it is. It exists, and at high levels of play it matters, but ultimately it's not nearly as important a factor as is commonly believed.

I've seen a Mist Lynx kill a Stalker, Atlas, and a Raven as the last man standing in a match. It was a truly glorious thing to spectate from the pov of the mist lynx pilot, but it is not evidence of any superiority on the Mist Lynx's part.

Welcome to the "*mech* is OP" serious series of thread titles, where the OP got destroyed (or watched the destruction) by the newly added mech.

Just wonderful.

I average 2 kills a match in an Enforcer. I have done as high as 6 kills in one match with one so they are nothing to skuff off but then again, I am not an average pilot.

Note: I don't use modules in pugs.

Shhh, the Enforcer is a lie.

Alternatively, show us on the doll where the Enforcer touched you.

Pray tell, what were the conditions of all mechs involved? Three critically damaged mechs against a fresh one (no matter what it is) will generally fare poorly.

PGI, please stop making smurf accounts to sell mechs. Thank you.

PSA: When a thread like this happens, check the following before replying:
  • Check OP's number of posts. If suspiciously low...
  • Check OP's star rating, if he has one. If he doesn't...
  • Check OP's join date
If he or started playing about a month ago, congratulations. You've solved the mystery. Modify your response accordingly.

@OP: Welcome to MWO. Due to the nature of our flawed matchmaker, you'll sometimes encounter very good or very bad players. This may lead you to the impression that some mechs are OP and others are UP. Apply a scientific mindset and try to avoid confirmation bias.

By that logic the Commando is way more OP'd...

I once saw a player piloting a commando take down the remaining 4 enemy mechs to secure a victory and a Commando is only 25 tons.

Enforcer is one of those mechs where the pilot is the deciding factor. A good pilot in an Enforcer is godlike, a shite pilot in an enforcer goes down faster than an XL hunchback.

ENF-4R - excellent killer. ENF-5D - passable. ENF-5P horribly short on hardpoints.and build options. (basically a PiTA to build without XL.)

What exactly entails with stars?

They don't mean much, but most of the trolls on the forum tend to end up with 1 star sooner or later. You can rate other people from 1-5 stars, so people who are nice to everyone tend to end up with 5 stars. Most people have 3 or 4. Dedicated trolls almost always have 1 star.
