The wub is strong in this one.

PNT-9R

MPL version, you can even strip 2 JJ for another heatsink, but that's not really necessary.

The Panther are great light mechs for pilot who are used to driving medium.
I couldn't get the drive-by-shooting play style of light mechs but the panther fits right in the support/harasser role that mediums often play.

Have my 10K running 1x ERPPC, 1x MPL, 1x ASRM4 on XL200, as lance defender and part time poptart.
9R is running 4x ML with 1x SRM6 and XL 250, as harasser/brawler
8Z is packing 2x LL, 2x LRM5 and XL180 as a range support

You forget one has the awesome power of Hoverjets™ and is the proper Firestarter (aka 35 ton) size.

its only half a ton and you can still pack plenty of DHS and a TC if you want.

I've had some of my favorite games in my Adder.

Like when I was the last one because everyone ignores adders, and their like assault lance was left but were all open CTs, and so I just had to run and pop them in the CT with both my PPCs and they were dropping. was hilarious, killed 2 Atlases and a Direwolf before an AFK light snuck up on me while I cooled off and hit my back.

plus you can hide inside dead Direwolves.

The Panther is the Light Mech for people who don't do Light Mechs?

I'm pretty happy to read this thread from you.
I've already said to you, in a previous old post, that being a good true mechwarrior, you surely can do well in any role.

As CDA is a false medium, Panther is quite a false light.
It trades speed, and so engine tonnage, for firepower.
I use them as clean up, hyenas, not esactly killstealing, but that alpha is nasty.
My fav actually is this:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d9161017fd117e9

I feel it perfect for my medium mech style.

Who knows..... maybe the Panther is the first light that will make you a light jock :D

edit: too lazy to post images...
but yes, 2 kill and 300 dmg average per match.
With a lot of 4 -5 kills mathes. Only one with 6 kills.
Max dmg is been 746.

but the hit boxes on the Panther are far superior and they have the all important jumpu jetus.

Adder does not have 2 or more energy slots in a single arm for perfect convergence. That is a fail in my book.

If you all gave the Adder a real try you would find them very fun little mechs, especially if you play them similar to what the panther does, a hit n run and a sniper. just have to be a bit more creative with your approach compared to the panther since you can't poptart.

It does have good elevated arms, but I'll probably put CLPLs on it for generic purposes.

Really no.

Very different hitboxes, panther's ones are good, badder ...no way.
JJ and maneuverability? panther without doubs.

About game style, yes, adder is a false light like the panther. But it's bad....

Removing that flamer and half a ton of armour could mean an extra DHS or SPL or ERML.
I think that is the biggest gripe people have with the adder.
Personally I enjoy that ride somewhat but the panther offers me a shield arm and jump jets.
I also enjoy running around poking and backstabing in a kitfox, but that 20 tonner lacks punching and staying power.

Well yea I would love for them to remove that flamer, an even higher hardpoint. I'm just saying its not a huge tax on the little mech.

the tonnage of the flamer isn't my problem, its the hardpoint its taking up that I want.

Adder prime is exlactly like the Panther, except:
20 kph slower,
30% less agile (acc&decc)
25% more ERPPC heat
40% less ERPPC velocity,
low slung arms
no jumpjets
twice as wide

I take it back. It's nothing like the Panther ;-)

PS. I forgot. Clantech OP. PGI pls nerf.
