Hello Tina! Welcome!

So.. My ideal CM for MWO? It's easy::

- clear and simple written expressions..
- available in this Forum within 10 minutes (7/24) for every player..
- shareing with the players every Dev-generated/MWO related free infos within 10 minutes (7/24) of it's publishing..
- knowing every MWO related datas/infos and their newest changes (or least to have a steady hotline to the guys who knowing that stuff)..
- clear and not too ugly voice..
- good humor and endo-steel nerves..

Sidenote: Don't forget, that many (mostly newer) players use this Forum, as their only info-source for MWO. If you don't put on your infos here too, they won't reach those players in time.

Good Luck!

See emphasis in bold above, seriously, you are looking for a cyborg that never sleeps?

Sorry if I missed the sarcasm there :P

And more importantly, welcome aboard Mlle. Benoit :)

Greetings Tina!

Admittedly, I do not spend a lot of time posting to the forums, but I do like to peek my head in and see what's going on, as there are some great bits of news and information that gets put out here.

Can't say I really know what I want in a CM at this point, but I do think anything I would say or suggest has already been stated by others by now.

In any event, welcome aboard!

Hello Tina.

Good luck and welcome to the Mad House, we really needed a community Manager and someone who will take these boards as a serious communication tool.

Your hardest part in this job, is not allowing yourself to get emotionally invested in some of the comments people will direct at you and PGI.

I think you will find with experience, what one small group of people wants, there are four, or five other groups that wants something different.

The biggest gaps being the competitive Min/Maxers, and those that want a more Battletech feeling game, the rest kind of slot in at various points between the two.

I can strongly suggest you play the game, ( if five hours of MWO game time a week minimum, isn;'t in your contract it should be :) )play it in all forms solo pug, in arena and CW, small groups, and large, and don't just isolate yourself with one small section of the community, grouping with just the Bosses boys/NgNg, isn't going to really give you experience of the whole community, just a small and selective part of it.

So once again Good luck

Actually when it comes to the community, we're nowhere near as toxic as many of the other games that I've played. I think it helps that the MechWarrior franchise encompasses a more "mature" age bracket due to its tabletop history. Dealing with flamers will be pretty low on your activity list!

As has been mentioned, making sure you can relay information here that normally gets posted on social media would be a great help. I'm not into twitting and that sort of stuff so I will often miss nice nuggets of information unless a member posts it on here.

Hopefully you will enjoy your new job :)

Kay, I got a job for you.

Take twitter from Russ.

Alternatively: Link Russ´ twitter stuff to this forum.

I´m sick of second hand rumors. And I bet I am not alone in this.

Welcome Tina!

Really glad to have a CM for MWO because we certainly need one. There are certainly alot of cynics in the MWO community (certainly a sizable vocal minority) but MW and BT fans are as die hard as they come. Keep us well informed, take the communities voice into consideration, and answer our questions actively on the forums and reddit and I think people will be quite pleased.

A couple things I would love to have from a new CM
1) A weekly post about what is happening this week in mwo. Things like community events, patch day, progress updates on new features, or even videos and tournaments made by community members.
2) An interview with NGNG to get to know you a bit more would be sweet!

Welcome aboard. I hope you have some thick skin... You might need it round these parts.

Definitely play the game under an alt account first to get a bit of a feel for it. After that, take a tour of some different unit Teamspeak servers. There are tons of them out there to try. Get a feel for the community first hand that way. Sync up with NGNG for some twitch streaming. All this will go a very long way to making you an awesome CM.

Good Luck, Good Hunting. o7

P.S. Revoke Russ' Twitter privileges.

Welcome Tina, O7 and GLHF!

I'd also like to see (important) news provided by other channels (Twitter etc.) to be shown on the forum.

No dont, its the only way things actually happen. :o

Just put his twitter announcements on the forums, or attack the website guys with a baseball bat until they put a decent twitter feed embedded into the site (there is sort of a thing there now, but its useless noise) with official account retweeting stuff.
