I haven't been using my T-bolts. Too many T-bolts are on the field. It's getting pretty boring to see that out of so many mechs, the same tiny handful keep getting used over and over again.

You mean like the same three clan mechs you see over and over? It's called the meta, if you don't like it then go drop in solo normal pug drops.

Lets see the rest of the stats:

DPS: Tbolt - 15.9 SCR - 12.0
Sustained DPS: Tbolt - 6.9 SCR - 5.6
Time to Overheat - Tbolt - 10.9 SCR - 10.7

Not to mention the Tbolt gets an extra module (for better range or seismic) and has the left arm for a shield. Lastly, if willing to drop to a 275, It can dump endo for a loss of 7 KPH and up it's sustained DPS to 7.2. So I'd be more inclined to say it can beat the best.

One thing you're not including is hitboxes, so no, it can't. There's a reason why it's tier 2 and the clan 3 are teir 1. Not to mention range, and the fact that both the Timberwolf and the Stormcrow can do pretty much any build, and the Timberwolf as JJ.

Dude, I'm IS, and I have T-bolts.

I'm just irritated how every drop deck is so painfully samey.

I've never bought into the whole "it's what's meta" tripe. I just take something that fills the role the team needs.

It's like in those street fighter titles, dozens of characters, and they always pick the same Ken, Ryu, or Akuma. I don't know how this doesn't get bland for people. Do they only have 4 mechbays? It's almost as bad as dropping with a team of "Basic Green" players.

This is the thing that bothers me, honestly. I like the Tbolt, but it's far from my favorite mech and I pride myself on running weird mechs with weird builds. But if you aren't running a FS A, a Tbolt 5S, and a Stalker N, you're hurting your team. It's...so....boring....

So I'm on the PUG queue now where I can run whatever I want and still have an effect on the game.

Well, yeah, but other than that, they're IDENTICAL.

You mean those terrible terrible clan hit boxes that have been broken sense they dropped in the first place? Granted Clan Mech shapes just do not do well to allow a good non TT set of hitboxes, but I am calling BS on this one man. I can't tell you how many times I've peaked around a corner to see what was going on only to back off with my Timbers nose (ct) bleeding from a super nasty IS pinpoint insta damage alpha.

Also JJs on a timberwolf are garbage and only suited for getting over those nasty pebbles known to stop mechs in their tracks. They don't let you turn faster, get a speed boost or anything, they just let you lift off pittifully into the air for a second before you slam back down where you where. JJs are garbage for most mechs frankly.

The DireWolf you never see because it takes to damn long to go anywhere and you can't boost it's speed any, the MadDog just BARELY got a glitch fixed where ammo in one shoulder would explode and the other shoulders would dissapear, but i you get in the face of a Mad Dog, they're gonna have a bad day, not to mention they have shoulders that go for days on their hit boxes.

The Storm Crow is really the only one I can see what you mean and all, but here is the thing.. That is our light, We have no lights to really compete with FireStarters, Jenners, Ravens, or even the Locust. Storm Crows where always meant to scout ahead and then move back to support the assaults. I see no reason to be pissed they can do their job especially when we have only lights that act like fragile mediums.

I will admit to a few advantages of clans, .. Speed, We mostly travel the same speed so it is easy to stick together. the TimberWolf is great at long range laser vomit and if you don't have EMC or AMS, the MadDog will rain on you till the LRMs run dry.. but.. That's about it. Longer burn times for longer ranges just isn't as great as others would have you believe.

Range ceases to be an advantage when you are attacking or defending stationary assets. So Clans lose that minor advantage, the ability to warm your armour at 1200+ with ERLL, but still gets to enjoy longer burn time and PPC splash.

Being a reasonable user of the Madcat cause it stomps pretty much any other mech i come against (though that gets boring so I play IS CW) im waiting for the Dire, Madcat & Stormcrow nerf to come, to bring those mechs more on par with the best IS mechs.. wonder when that will happen.

As for the Tbolts, the 9s & 5ss are arround but not that common, though more so in CW (not much in solo Q, especially not the 9s). Tbolts do ok, but they are large for a 65 ton mech and taking out one side reduces them to very few weapons.

Heck im more scared of Stormcrows in my Madcat than of a ponderingTbolt

Why nerf something instead of bringing IS up to par with it? ..Funny what people who pilot IS will often say, not including you but. .. they want Clan Mechs nerfed to the dirt to make the lesser used clan mechs come out..but they want the lesser used IS mechs to be buffed to make them come out instead of the same treatment.

I got an idea.. how about we stick to the plan of IS mechs being better at some things than Clan mechs and letting the clan mechs be better than IS mechs at some things.

I will even give Brawling to IS mechs even though clan mechs are suppose to be better at that as well. just let Clan Mechs keep their skirmishing ability. because if you want both sides to play the same, What is the point of the clan invasion? if that is the case, let us just go back to the IS inter fighting days cause we may as freaking well.

The clans are suppose to be a overwhelming threat that brings the houses together in the new star league, not some equal force that mildly annoys the IS on a new front.

You wanna know what I'm most scared of in any mech I Pilot? .. IS Lights.. those damned Fire Starters that .. once again.. are in cannon suppose to be worthless in mech on mech.. but can out zip and out fight just about everything. We had a IS team take us down 24 to 2 with a Firestarter rush.. It was Terrifying.. enraging.. and awe inspiring at the same time.

Tbolts get to be awesome at heat management when they are suppose to suck at it
Stalkers get to be awesome at heat management when they are suppose to suck at it
Firestarters get to be the most terrifying things on two humanoid legs this side of a decent mech game and are suppose to be anti infantry only..

Signature Clan Mechs that are kinda awesome and have a small edge to them need to be nerfed to the ground..

Say wha?

It's better than it was when it came out.

Therefore, not a nerf.

tee hee

All jest aside, adhering strictly to the tabletop for MWO is a misnomer. Things didn't translate well from one to the other and the sheer amount of customization just made it ludicrous keeping mechs 100% to their TT incarnation. Practically every IS mech in MWO has been altered from its TT version from at least a minor to drastic decree in this game, even more so now with the implementation of quirks.

I'll presume you're new and don't remember the pre-quirk T-bolt. I got it free, I played it once. ONCE then nearly threw it out. Maybe they overtweaked it, but keep in mind you are comparing it to a 10-ton lighter mech which has *no* major quirks.

Mobility is HUGE in this game, so looking at just laservomit numbers (especially sustained DPS) is stupid. All the gazelle-crow has to do is not play the heat game, instead just peek & shoot. If he can pop up in enough random/unexpected locations, chances are he'll win. The fact it has half the frontal area no doubt will help.

Regardless of apparent OP-ness, I see the SC get 6-900 dmg numbers MUCH more often than I see people doing that in any T-bolt. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.

Needs nerfed harder. Just like the WVR, DRG, AWS, STK, LCT, SDR, etc. Weapons should not be starkly better on a mech-to-mech basis. We need weapon manufacturers not easymode on a mech-to-mech basis. Why should a dragons ac5s fire faster than any other mechs ac2s? "cuz it sucks and me want pilot it", sorry your mech sucks but thats the way it was made man. Just like how a locust sucks because you are running around with paper thin armor and expect not to be instant killed when people are hurling enormous munitions at you. Sorry this isn't TT and most of us are competent at aiming.
