I will go slow for you AnimeFreak because you seem dense, stupid or all around mentally challenged. PGI made this into something its not now due to the extension.
I assure you, my reading comprehension skills are pretty good, and I do find it rather unfair that you are questioning both my intelligence and my ability to comprehend the written word when I have not done any such thing to you or anybody else. Guess that's the internet for you. Whatever.

"it is deceptive to remind people "get it before X date" and THEN on the very last moment to "change your mind" and extended it. It doesn't sit well with people."
Have you (or anybody else for that matter) considered for a moment that in all likelihood, when the decision to put the deadline out there, it was
actually intended to be a hard deadline? This is the part where I throw some disparaging remark about people's lack of critical thinking skills and move on with my overall statement...
In any event, there were many people saying 'oh crap, just 1 week is not enough time, please PGI, can you extend that deadline please?' and PGI decided to acquiesce to those folks. This is *not* something PGI had to do, but decided to do so anyway. To be clear, this was not a magnanimous decision, but one based purely on making money. It probably took them a week to hear enough people to warrant making the decision to change.
Deception, by its very definition implies malice (even if unintended). This strikes me as being less in the realm of deception and more in the realm of very bad timing. Feces occurs.

"It really does feel this was a scam. A week was a ridiculous amount of time to set, and then to change it immediately as the date ran out."
I can't help how you feel. I disagree with you however as a scam requires intentional deception and deception implies malice and I do not think PGI intended on deceiving anybody.
Now, I will agree that a week was a poor choice and not one I would have made. But again, it is likely that at the time things were posted, that was the intend and the intention was to stick with it. Enough people waved money in their face and said 'if you give us 1-2 more weeks, it's yours, we promise'. I think PGI would have been stupid to NOT change it.
Again, it most likely took them most of the week to get enough people waving money in their face.

"I don't think I want to "invest" another $ in this game now, considering all I got to do to get "early rewards" is to wait."
Then don't. Ever since the Phoenix Pack, this sort of stuff has been set on a timer, where you get your rewards after a timeframe has elapsed. It's not new.

Bitching is saying you got a bigger cookie then me. voicing our opinion about a questionable marketing and shady business practice is another thing you will learn in time.
Bitching is complaining, usually about nothing of consequence, and usually not offering any sort of reasonable solution. And to be quite frank, I have seen a lot of people bitching.
Regarding questionable marketing and/or shady business practices, I find that is is best to not attribute malice to something that was most likely caused by incompetence. And given what I have seen of questionable marketing and shady business practices, this whole thing sounds more like someone making a bad call than any sort of poor intentions.
I mean, seriously, I highly doubt Russ (or anybody at PGI) wakes up in the morning and wonders how they can **** over or otherwise piss off the player base. That makes no sense.

Regardless our voice was heard and Russ is going to make it up to us. So we win you lose STFU and move on.
I jumped on the bandwagon before the 28th just like a number of other folks, so I'm not exactly sure how I lose anything. I was also not aware that this was some sort of pissing contest where the side that wins gets to take home a trophy and the loser gets to pound sand.
