I've been thinking about it, and I would like to see 3 things come to Wave III

1 - The token of appreciation for early adopters that made the Feb-28 deadline, -
It'd be nice if it was something semi exclusive, enough to satiate people but not enough that people will moan over it.
It cannot be a Norn Mech(s).
Personally, I think MWO logo mugs would be nice, they're rare enough to get, aren't generally sold and a nice touch, and cosmetic items are the most likely thing it'll be.

2 - I would like something to replace the 12 Premium Colours we miss out on for buying both Wave II and Wave III.
It feels punitive to those who supported both packages.
Ideally, I'd love to see us get 12 'colour of your choice' tokens, or the equivalent value in MC.
Really, it'd be nice if anything in any package that was unlock-only and not able to be duplicated (basically Camo Spec for X mech and Colours) automatically converted to the MC value if you already own it.

3 - Some sort of loyalty bonus.
Doesn't need to be much, I mean base on the Clan Wave II and Resistance Packs we got mugs / steins with the logos on.
There was also the Mad Dog and other stuff, but really just something little like more extra mugs / steins or even a hanging items with previous pack logos on would be a nice touch as with other packages.

Omfg, I didn't realize that they weren't giving us loyalty reward mugs/steins again....wow I guess that's why the calculations I saw in another thread showed that Wave III was the least-good for your money than the other packages.
They definitely should give us something extra for being early birds, turns out they will thank goodness. I wholeheartedly agree that they should give Wave II buyers something extra to make up for the fact that we are getting the same faction colors/ patterns all over again.
Would be nice if owners of Wave 1, 2, and 3 got something extra down the line as well, like the Kodiak or maybe just the 4th variants of Wave 1 that are currently available in the gift shop.

(Hell, what would be exceptionally nice, is if you gave the early adopters that bought all the packs the other 4th Clan Variants. I know this won't happen, but it'd be nice.)

I know what exclusive token of appreciation would make me happy, a shiny a Marauder IIC(L) or Warhammer IIC(L).

As for missing out on the colours, how about the people who have Wave II and Wave III get the colours and skins for the remaining major Clans unlocked for Wave I, II and III clan mechs. I feel bad that the Shadowcat doesn't have a Nova Cat paint job...

I initially thought giving a Faction Content option for Wave I would be a nie touch, but then of course, it's an extra 32 Premium Camo Unlocks, which is worth 40,000MC.
Which would be really nice, but I was thinking 'small token'.

But hey, that and/or the 4th variants for wave 1-2 would be amazing. :P

Let's do the math here.

September 2014 -
  • PGI anounces that they will release a "Exclusive" Atlas for those that ordered any pre-sale package to date.
  • Same announcement states that the "Exclusive" Centurion will be granted to anyone that has bought MC to date.
  • Same announcement states that the "Explusive" King Crab will be granted to anyone that bought a Top Tier package to date
  • http://mwomercs.com/...iation-program/
  • Cut off date for the "Exclusive" Atlas = 23 September 2014.
  • Cut off date for the "Exclusive" Centurion = 23 September 2014.
  • Cut off date for the "Exclusive" King Crab = 16 December 2014.
ex·clu·sive = restricted or limited to the person, group, or area concerned.

January 2015 -
  • Original announcement (that has since been deleted) announced that anyone that buys any top tier mech pack gets all three of the above mechs.. Cut off date was Jan 31st.
February 2015 -
  • Reannounces the 15 Year Anniversary event with end date of 28 Feburary 2015.
  • Announces yet again, that all three "Exclusive" mechs will be used as a reward.
  • February 28, 2015 - Announces that they will yet again change the deadline for the same three mechs, etc to 17 March 2015.
So when we look at the big picture, PGI has dangled these same three mechs in our faces since last September. They were to be "Exclusive" mechs. As in, "here they are. Get them now while you can. They'll never be back."

That is not only a shady but downright unethical business practice. They have created, on numerous occasions, a "must have" situation and then either moved the date or utilized the exact same asset in another promotion after stating they were "Exclusive" to the first.

Trust is the first thing one needs in order to stay in business PGI. You've lost mine.

Edit: And to anyone that is about to hit me up with "They never actually said that", look up the word "Exclusive".

Although I registered to play the game in 2012, I just recently started playing so I feel like I'm playing catch up. Actually, I just recently got a computer that would run the game (Windows XP holdout). So, I have not been around to see all the ins and outs, all the ups and downs, and all the drama. While I think PGI's extension of the Wave III Early Adopter program was a good business decision, as an early purchaser of the Gladiator package I can't help but feel a little shorted on the exclusivity content. I understand that Russ will compensate us somehow, but I am worried that it will fall short of the "exclusive" content we were promised. I already have the loyalty / anniversary mechs (which I am very happy with). Perhaps a decent Hero mech or one of the first clan champion or hero mechs would be in order? My other suggestion would be a MC or c-bill infusion equivalent to the value of the exclusive mechs that aren't so exclusive anymore.

Just my two c-bills.

it was asking a lot to expect people to pre-order before the art work was even released. good for them extending it.

Thank PGI, but, really, for those who have already bought, please, make a small bonus in gratitude - for example additional camo pattern.

Oh I know what they can do, they can give them a third set of Legacy Atlas, Cent and Crab.

THIS 100 TIMES OVER!!! I have been fuming about this everytime it comes up and to a blind eye.. ..ironic the same happens to the clan pack with the extension and all of a sudden everyone is complaining. Where was that when PGI did this first time round!

Use of the word 'Exclusive' in this game means absolutely nothing.

I don't mind players getting new stuff, that's cool. But this move by PGI was just downright cheap imo. Those that have been with the game from the get go, through beta, alpha, lurmageddon, ecmageddon and all the rest ain't gettin' nothin' special...

As a few others have stated I bought because you said have to do it by February 28th and now you extend the time another 17 days. What will be done for those of us who jumped thru your hoops before the extension? Nice Gold Mech would be sufficient .......

As somebody who bought before the 28th, pushing it back was still the right decision. There's early adoption, and there's buying a box of silhouettes.

I don't feel anything needs to be done for those who bought earlier. Yes, I bought when I did because I thought it was my only shot, but I'm still getting exactly what I paid for, and people who want to see the concept art first are still pretty early.

If people insist on asking for things, how about something quick like a title? "First Responder" or something like that. That should be pretty quick without adding any significant bonus after the fact to upset the people who waited.

*Space-Saver Snip*

I am aware of what happened in the past, not all of the details, but enough to understand what happened as a general thing. Admittedly, I was out of the loop on that mess because I honestly found very little useful information from anybody at that time. Combine this with my aversion to forums as a general thing and given what some of the folks I was playing with were saying as to what was going on made me less inclined to peek my head in.

Maybe it is because of my experience in development (not necessarily game development, but I do have some experience there too) and an understanding of how some things work that I had a hard time understanding what it was that pissed people off so much. Maybe it is because I have few expectations, or maybe my needs are limited as well, as from my perspective PGI delivered what they promised me and if I had any questions, I just had to take a look at the FAQ and my questions were suitably answered.

As far as understanding, and maybe again, this is just the way my mind works, but intent does matter. Now, that doesn't necessarily excuse the action taken, but explaining the intent and reasons behind the course of action taken leads to understanding on my part...but I think I am a rarity on the internet in that I apply critical thinking skills to a given situation too. I also tend to lean in the direction that the simplest explanations tend to be correct and that one should not ascribe to malice what is more easily attributable to incompetence.

I think that the best explination the irritation was actually summed up here:

Analogy:
Scenario:
Power Outage.
Me sweating after climbing steps, "I finally made it to the 30th floor!"
Power comes back on.
Coworker talks to me, "Hi Bob, thank god the elevator came back on. Imagine having to take the stairs."
Me to coworker, "God dmit"

Yeah, that would be frikkin' irritating as hell and would probably piss me off in a major way, but at the same time directing my wrath at the building management (who likely had little to do with the power outage, as it was most likely cause by something out of their control), I would either shrug it off as crappy luck or find out what caused the outage in the first place.

To turn it back to the topic at hand, I can see why people are upset; they jumped through hoops to meet a deadline that turned out to not be much of a deadline. I get that, and I guess if I had to jump through hoops that were far more drastic than the ones I did to make sure I got in on time I would be a bit irritated too, but not to the point of expressing the rage and anger that I am seeing here, as it seems to me to be unwarranted...but maybe that's because I'm a generally laid back kinda guy who tries to not let things get to him too much.

This all being said, I am glad that the early birds are getting a little something. I am not going to deny that it is deserved given your apropos office-worker analogy as well. But I still don't see the need to continue the rage and hate... it just comes off (to me at least) that not only can they accept an apology but they cannot accept a gift either and that no matter what PGI does, some folks will never, ever be satisfied.

I think PGI really shot themselves in the foot with the ridiculously early deadline. People who actually capitulated and made the deadline feel lied to/burned, while those like myself who wrestled terribly with the forced decision and ultimately decided to pass on the pack have begun the slippery slope toward reducing or cutting our spending entirely. Now that I've gotten into the headspace that maybe I can live without every special offer bonus that PGI invents, it will be that much easier next time to pass on this and future packs and MC purchases.

I think PGI should just drop all this preorder bs entirely and ask for our money when the content is actually done and we can see exactly what we're going to get. I guess that's too much to ask, though.

When ever I have dealt with support including the times I have raged hard at them and I have raged HARD, they have always been professional and ended up working through things with me. This is why I threw down my cash as early as I could!

For anyone who has been involved in business take overs or JV splits or whatever you will know that there is sometimes historical or legacy issues or 'stuff' that takes a very long time to realign or close out. This game, in its pretty short time has had a very active history and is still standing here today offering a pretty stable stompy mech experience. The customer requested and it must have been in pretty significant numbers and PGI responded, why not see this as part of PGI's journey of change rather than belt them for listening and working with players.

During a journey of change there will be hurdles to overcome, lets ride the good and the bad together as one united mechwarrior family.

EDIT: For my own giggles ...

*** PATCH NOTES ***

Fixed bug where exclusive one time only limited edition hidden reserve was not met, extended deadline for exclusive limited edition never to be repeated or giving in another event items.

*** END NOTES ***

Anyone else notice the "Toil and Trouble" stenciled on the nose of the CB. I wonder if the other side says "Bubble, Bubble". Hope they have that for the Buccaneer Camo.

This fellow mirrors my own thoughts regarding the half-preorder that I decided to go with and tosses out a remarkably good idea right afterward. I like the cut of his jib.

I just hope I get whatever token they do decide to give out for the two tiers I managed to afford pre-March and it's not a "top-tier only" thing. That'd be pretty cool of PGI.

Ay.

If it's one thing, it really wants to be for anyone who got the early adopter.

The other option is 4 things, 1 per level.
