At the moment i can see that clan mechs are a little short on choice, but once wave 3 is out for cbills then i see no reason why a rule like this should not be brought in.

I have zero tbolts in my deck. Are people still taking them? Post 9S requirkening, they're back to being a middle of the road, tanky heavy.

Being an assault guy sucks in CW :-) ... you have to play, wargh, light Mechs. Little crawly buggers that faceplant when you point a gun in their general direction.

85 tons, 75 tons, 55 tons, 35 tons. Largest of each. You know people would be all over it, and complaining about tonnage limits if they had a chassis limit.
I personally believe the mandatory 4 mechs thing should be dropped, and the tonnage lowered substantially. Say 115 tons. Most you can bring is five 20 ton mechs (with 15 tons left over). Least you can bring is a single 100 ton mech (with 15 tons left over).

The Thunderbolt is still king in the drop decks of the upper-tier teams that I have dropped against in CW but now they are taking large lasers instead of PPCs. It pretty much works like this:
First wave all lights
Second through fourth waves mixture of large laser boating Thunderbolts and Stalkers
it seems the recent change to the "large" laser family has really shifted the builds of the IS.

Then what has taken its place? From my side of such exchanges, Thunderbolts are still the best IS heavy I face. Jagers get an honorable mention since they pack a punch but are also more fragile.

Happy to take only one Thunderbolt in deck if mean that Clan can no longer take drop deck with three stormcrow.
If you're happy, I'm happy

P.S. For now i see no way to solve this problem as well as PUG-vs-Premade problem cant be solved... Only one thing here that 95% of players will agree - CW need to be re-worked.... As well as UI 2.0

Thats why its been successful for 30 years right? *smh*
Even without mechs...its almost as good as Steel Panthers, when you consider all the things Steel Panthers (or Squad Leader, Rifts WW2, or even Warhammer) doesnt have, that BT has.
BT is only missing Morale. If it had that, itd stand shoulder to shoulder with ANY tactical (or strategic) table top game.
Just infantry, tanks, arty and air, youll have a game thats comparable to the top of the line table top wargames.
That it has Robots just makes it that much better.
I used to be able to say it needed Morale, and Infantry unit facing, but it added unit facing about 12 years ago.
If infantry popped smoke and routed. Id never play Steel Panthers again.

Your TT games should include predesigninated artillery zones, mines, APCs, paratroopers, resupply dumps, coolant trucks, lifter mechs, ammo loaders, aerofighters with bombs, thunder lrms, ECM, BAPs, entrenched positions, engineers, bridging trucks (and mechs), mine clearers, and possibly, a hot drop lance.
And if you dont have Yellow Jackets. FU.
Triage/medical tents, and using your Doctors and Astechs are optional.

The issue is that bringing an assault means that you are dropping with essentially three mechs. EVERYTHING under 55 tons is pretty bad, Warhawk isn't good enough to justify the trade and Dire Wolf is too slow for most CW applications.
Specially not when you are looking at forcing a Myst Lynx into your deck, there is literally no saving "LOOK MA NO ARMS"

I ran TBR/TBR/HBR/MLX for a while just to get those three heavies in there and yeah, it was pretty much a throwaway 'mech.
I mean it had some uses--I ran ECM and two MPL so I could at least contribute to the team and sometimes I would break away from the main force and stealth a generator down or something but it is in no way a "real 'mech" so I usually drop TBR/TBR/SCR/ADR or TBR/SCR/SCR/SCR these days.
