This needs to be an entire topic on its own. Getting a 'map kit' in the hands of the community or at least a set of guidelines on how to build a cryengine map so that it could be tested internally by PGI ... should really be a top priority in my opinion. MWO suffers from a really serious case of map starvation and I'm willing to bet the modding community would love the opportunity to add the variety this game desperately needs.

The One Armed Bandit

“..*.*#..DOON! Wher..**#....an?”
“Whhhaaaaa...?” My voice weak. The smell of burning silicon and wires oppressive in the scorching hot cockpit.
“Kjudoon! Are you receiving me?” I couldn't recognize the voice. My ears still rang from the impact of two AC20 rounds having struck my mech, one of which to the head. The cockpit was starred in one corner. Fans blasting in fresh air and drawing out the smoke fast, but not fast enough.

“Yeah! I hear you... kinda!”
“Where are you? We're pinned down!” I still couldn't place the name to the voice. I am pretty sure I have a concussion and my right arm is screaming at me. Wait. It wasn't supposed to be folded that way, was it? I thought elbows came standard facing backwards, not forwards. Ohhhh... this isn't good. Not good at all.

“I hear you but I'm a mess right now. Give me a minute to figure out what's going on!”

“We don't have a minute! Target Kilo and start dropping fast!” Oh right... missiles on target. Gotta help them out. I reached for the joystick instinctively with my right arm, then nearly blacked out from the sickening crunch from my elbow as the arm reversed its direction. I choked on a scream of pain resulting in a sickening gurgle into the mic.

I suddenly watched two blue names go red in my lance.

In that moment of pain and grief as I realized I failed two of my lancemates, I gained back the clarity as pain cleared through the cobwebs in my head. It was December of 3050 in some little industrial world in the Zion sector of Marik space. Liao had sent in a group to raid an industrial facility. Nothing more than pirates really under a modern letter of marque. Elements of the 7th Seraphim had dropped in to dissuade these miscreants from their intended goal. So far, it was not going too good.

Here is my submission... The proof of concept for Community Warfare. Homeworld was the Mechwarrior Registry's evolution to allow players and groups to control sectors of planets with terrain, cities and mechs that moved around all the planetary maps in the battletech universe. This really is where CW should go and I made a video explaining what it is... and why players would love it!

Hello everyone

I am the artist known as 'Shadow Cat' on Youtube. I've been creating MWO videos for around 2½ years, ever since the NDA was lifted back in 2012. I try to make videos with a fun, relaxed attitute while hopefully entertaining the three or so people who actually watch them . I add commentary, humor and sillyness to my videos, and throw in tips&tricks for players of varying levels, while trying to keep a humble attitude. I endeavor to keep my videos as 'family friendly' as possible, avoiding bad language or BM behavior and try to keep things impersonal and friendly.

My latest video series is called "Trial Mech Tribulations". The series is intended as a relaxed, entertaining introduction to trial mechs and MWO in general, where I try to show what untrained trial mechs are capable of, while commentating the action and giving tips and tricks aimed for beginning/novice players.
