This game shouldn't have a timeline. It should have a setting,

I still think PGI would have been better off doing
* MechWarrior Online: The Succession Wars (set in 3025)
* MechWarrior Online: The Clan Invasion (set in 3050)
* MechWarrior Online: Word of Blake (set in 3067)

Not sure this is a great plan - it'd essentially divide the playerbase 3 ways. That said, I did prefer the days of single heat sink, IS only mechs.

Just thought I'd revive this thread in the hopes that Russ will read it and consider working the Wacker into MWO in the near future. (I don't have a twitter account, nor do I read Reddit, hence my desperate attempt to convey my wishes on the MWO forum)

Oh I'm sure Russ is already aware that there are at least a few of us that would like to see the Bushwacker implemented.

P.S. : Holy necrothread, Batman!

I know! Old thread. I started reading it without noticing the date. When I saw a post by Mallen I thought... "Joseph Mallen's back?" . Then I saw the date and was like "oh".

Anyway, there is always room for the Bushwacker. I have a feeling that it might be one of the few mechs going forward I would buy (other than a Cougar, Marauder IIC, and or maybe a Champion).

we had tukayyid as an official event so its at least 3052

if pgi was smart they would keep the game at 3052 perpetually... because the battletech gets even more stupid past 3052 than it does past 3025. But the damage of adding clans is already done.

Bottom line is, they're going to run out of 3050 era mechs to sell sooner rather than later...

Another reason to implement the BushWacker: It's a MEDIUM 'Mech. I say that because we are seeing a flood of heavy 'Mechs, so much so, Russ has mentioned having to adjust the matchmaker to accommodate the perpetually high number of heavies in queue. Releasing a beloved medium might help to offset all those heavies - just sayin'.

There are still quite a few left, the question simply becomes how many of them are actually worth implementing.

They added Kodiak variants from 3068 (Kodiak-3), so the timeline is pretty much in its death throes right now.

You'd still have to wait a long time for it to arrive because it's such a slow mech...

Are you kidding!

Urbanmech is actually faster than the Cougar in MWO by 17.4 kph.

The "timeline" defacto jumped to 3068 with the introduction of the Kodiak 3 unless PGI is confirming Time Travel in their amusing "A Battletech game™." That should give ya'll fair game to request any Mech between Age of War and 3068. Highly entertaining to peruse these forums still even though I don't play, I admit - it'll be epic to read when the Jihad Mechpacks hit.

Interesting....perhaps we'll see more inner sphere weapon systems (the rest of the LBX and UAC cannons for starters). And if we're really lucky, we might also see the HellHound from MW4.

The version I heard is that Russ is open to considering Mech chassis that reach production status by 3052; given previously they said you can consider that some of the "new" Mechs are actually prototypes that are being field tested, in the same vein, Mechs that reach production status in 3052 would be field-testing in 3050/ 51.

Honestly looking at the mech list, I think, aside from a few spots (40 tons, 70 tons, maybe 75 tons, and 90/ 95 tons brackets), we don't actually need more mechs. Personally I think we need more maps instead.

Agreed but as PGI has stated numerous times, you can't sell maps. The only reason we have a "timeline" at this point is to simply limit what mechs are introduced to be sold.

That's it.

There is no actual timeline. There's no movement of time. There's no advancement. There's no progression. It's simply a marketing tool to sell mechs.
