My ping is usually around 100-150. I start noticing issues at around 300, though I don't hit it often.

When I first started playing this, you only had one server in NA and my ping was around 220-230. Then you changed server location and it rose to about 270. Now you have three servers and my ping is atrocious. NA is around 290-310. O is around 330-365. E is around 370-390. Gameplay used to be ok, now it is utter crap with major lag every single game. The worst part is, I had my internet upgraded from copper to fibre optic and pay more for it and still playing this is extremely difficult.

200+ compensating for lag is required
150-200 is meh,
100-150 it's ok
<100 tight, but weird mechs get lagshield at high velocities, I'm looking at you spider.

I absolutelly hate when my ping hits 100+ (which is most of the time), but I make do like everyone else does.

But after 150... i just rage too hard to continue playing, so I finish that match and then log out and quit for the week. (My tolerance is not made of sterner stuff).

I only get a few hours of gaming time a week, (sometimes I cant even play games for multiple weeks at a time), so I dont want to waste it being pissed off at Hit Registration.

Actual location: Sardinia, Italy.
Playing on Europe server, i usually have 80-110 ping, playing on US servers, from 180 to 210.
But since November 2015 US ping can reach 300 and more.

The higher the ping, the slower mechs i need to hit something:
unable to hit something piloting a Locust on US servers,
unable to hit moving targets with PPCs,
chainfre weapons shoot only when they want,
targets teleporting around me.

My ping has been a stable 30-50 ms for years with MWO, and just a few weeks ago i started holding a steady 120-140

I have made every attempt to rule it out on my end. (which im 100% certain it is not on my end)

Literally just 20 min ago... I opp'ed my ISP bandwidth up to the next level... and only noticed a reduction in ping to the European and oceanic servers The north American server stayed at its 130ms mark....

So i just ruled out that its anything i can do

I use to have a green bar yellow bar and red bar
Then i had two yellow bars and a red bar
Now i have 3 yellow bars when you move the cursor over the launch tab

:( come on help me out here

OK having a ***** of a time. It seems that MWO has me choked down to 170ms . I've done EVERY speed and ping test I can find. I've also pinged no less then three other servers in Canada (average of 80ms). What gets me it's almost a ROCK steady 169-170 ping with them now. My old average with MWO was around 75 (good day) and 90 on a bad.

Location:
Germany, Leipzig

As far as I've noticed I find no effect on gameplay while my ping is below 180ms.
On the EU-Servers my avarage ping should be around 20-40, thus absolutly no effekt.
The ping to the American-Servers is around 120-140. There are no impacts also.
Towards the Oceanic-Servers it's around 330+. The 330+ is not playable, as the latency is too high. You feel the difference between doing something and it getting registered at the server.
When I'm in Cologne (West side of Germany, Leipzig is on the east side) I get a ping to the oceanics around 220. That is good enough to be playable (you feel the ping, but it is still possible to compensate).

my ping is at the lowest 240 and goes up to 380ish. I live in australia but the NA server (240-260) has a lower ping the Oceanic (270-310). EU is the worst (320-360). i also play at 20 fps.

I dont know how so many of you have 40-100 ping ive never seen better than 210.

That said i still do fairly well, i average 200 match score i think thats ok.

On a side note: The people with low pings are in locations in geographical proximity to the servers. From Australia you got propably the longest way to the EU and America Server.
Although your ping to the Oceanics should be quite lower. Somewhere in the forum was a discription to test where you are being routed (thus why you get such a high ping). If anyone knows where it was written or how it is done, please post it here

Australia? Oceanic sounds like a not-awesome place to be for MWO :(

Ok, after Tracerouting seen that for some reason my traffic is being routed through the EU. I live in Texas (USA) No damn reason this should be occurring. New router, releases DNS... I'm just at a damn loss.

Similar boat here in Oklahoma... as far as I can tell AT&T is using an old SWB (SouthWesternBell) route that have become either useless or obsolete. I got on AT&T forums they just gave me the standard "It's not us but them" kiss off.

Above 60ms, I begin to take performance drops due to your predictive movement algorithm. This includes running into phantom mechs, warping on terrain, and jump jet landing misplacement.

I dont believe this. As someone whose normal game ping is 300-400 on OC, US & does just fine, though EU (500+; unplayable so usually dont bother), i find that when ping is above 400 it begins to become unplayable, game unpredictable, warping mechs.
Heck my 3G wifi was being horrid last night for some reason & my ping was fluctuating between 600-5000 (yes 5 thousand) & i still got 981 damage in an invasion game.

Yes I'm being shunted through EU and FR

I've done several online traces and get a different result in each of them

100% agree 400/420 is when **** starts to get weird

Anything under that is playable, ( still doing good damage )

I get ~56 on Oceanic, ~270 to US and ~320 or there abouts to Europe. I find things start getting bad over 400. Under 370 or so I don't notice ping having any more effect than the random draw of teammates and opponents.

Although, now that I think of it I have never actually measured my match outcomes vs ping ... time to get the spreadsheet out again.

One thing I do know is way back when HSR was introduced it made ballistics actually playable.
