The Demolisher is armed with two 185 mm ChemJet Gun AC/20s, which are enough to make any other unit, 'Mechs included, pause. The relatively short range of the guns means that maneuverable units with long-range weaponry can confound the Demolisher. The tank also lacks any form of secondary weapons, which may be detrimental when the massive cannons run dry.

Yep.

Two.

Youre an honorary Goon now. I dub you, CyclonerMwaffe.

I am unsure if that is actually a honor, but thank you anyway :P

Is that meant to sound like "Luftwaffe"? Or does it mean something else in the Goon language?

Thought it mounted dual AC/20's, or an Ultra and LB depending on the year of the model in question?

Indeed. At least i know what it is :P

Good God I remember wrecking my buddies with Demolishers in the Citytech (that was it, right?) boxed set. You wanna run Timbergods in a city with no elementals against my tanks and PBI? Ok!

I always found the Marauder sub par, and dont consider it iconic. Locust is more iconic to me.

Other than the Warhammer and Marauder, there arent too many era appropriate mechs I can think of that are missing. Just maybe the Black Knight, Guillotine and Crab. Guess we need a Comstar pack

So what you are saying is, you have nothing to back up your accusations, that HG (a company that to date has been anything but rational or reasonable with their IP's) made a 'reasonable' and or cheap offer for the Macross unseens to PGI and Russ?

Ok this settles it for me. So begins the campaign. PGI/RUSS do not ever add the Mauler to the game this player does not deserve it.

Krafty, I think Jordan is the one who left, took off to do the Shadowrun thing, another kickstarter was created Jan 2015 for the next Shadowrun release, hit target by Feb 17, over 1 million raised total. I would guess he's pretty much focused on that and not on MWO since this is the 3rd Shadowrun game over the past 3 years. Personally loved Shadowrun, might have to check out the newest one, since it's being developed for PCs only this time, unlike the previous two, which you could run on a tablet or smartphone.

Kahn, you brought up what YOU think are iconic Mechs and were, according to MOST of us here, very much wide of the target with your selections, like you hit Pluto while aiming for the Sun wide of the target. Then you brought up some really odd assertions, some wildly inaccurate claims and in general, dumped a few metric tons of bs down and tried to tell us it was the finest saffron. You do the same in another threat, also today. So we didn't take your thread off topic so much as redirect it to the PROPER topic.

First off you know as well as I that the documents or communications placed on this forum would be a lawsuit by PGI against all parties involved.

If Russ wants the unseen mechs in MWO all he has to do is call he has known for 3+ years HG would allow them to be reproduced for actual gameplay and licensing rights for a continual use agreement.

Once again it is on Russ's shoulders he can reply the truth or not. Now on to the next subject then its off to play MechWarrio4 Mercenaries on GameRanger with some old friends.

Yeah ive been following that/donated. No one has said what happened and 'on the books' it looks like theres still an on paper partnership. Jordan has juggled multiple things at once for years, even back when he was doing handbooks and such. He's still doing those and pen and paper stuff, while doing the Shadowrun stuff, so its not totally unrealistic that in theory PGI still has an empty seat for him. I really dont know.

He was super active, then disapeared, then came back, then went to reddit, the nothing for a year, now he's on this new Shadowrun project.

Whatever happened its a shame. He was really what legitimized this game being that he's "The FASA guy", and I think alot of early game mechanics were his, especially since Smith and Tinker actually had a 'plan' that he carried over to PGI. His not being around sadly weakens his endorsement of it. I know im throwing rocks at trains here, but I sure wish Jordan could come back, and work on some of our game mechanics.

-sigh-

But HOW DO YOU KNOW about this mysterious information, that is our question, that none of us seem to, that's what we want to know.

Unless they are under an NDA (Nondisclosure agreement), and a Ceases and Desist letter would not count for the NDA, unless it was attached as part of the NDA. Also not sure if you are up on law in the western world or not, but burden of proof is on the accuser, not the accused. In this case, you as the accuser need to provide proof, not Russ or PGI.

Currently were trying to get as many mechs as possible into the game. This diversify the drops gives you a better experience

When the game started we had 6 mechs
Commando
Jenner
Hunchback
Dragon
Catapult
Atlas

Since then we added some of the most Icon Unseen/Reseen mech we could convince Russ to add. This includes cult favorites.

Players have 46 mech to chose from. 140 versions of the mech. with total customization. Grasshopper and Zeus next to drop on the 17th giving players 48 mech 146 versions.

So I think we have picked some of the best mechs for the game.

as a few people have mentioned, in the current timeline of MWO the Mauler doesnt have enough varients to be added into the game. many of them use weapon systems we do not currently have access to (IS ultra 2, Snub nose PPC, Light-AC-5, IS ER Mediums.) basically despite the stock chassis being in timeline (barely) it does not have enough variants to fit into the MWO experience unlock system. i'd say its highly unlikely that we will see it until they add the weapons, most of which are several years out in timeline.

as for the Unseen mechs, despite your apparent claims you wont listen to any of us and only Russ can put you off it, we've all asked plenty of times if we will get the Maurauder, there's even been fan art submitted as idea's to make it look different enough to use. and in all this time, the response has always been no, we are not currently working on them due to the legal problems. sorry if you dont like that answer, but thems the breaks.

Also, some of us like mechs like the Locust. just because you think its a hunk of junk doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game.

Not to mention Russ and crew went over this years ago. HG can suck it. They could offer us the Marauder on a silver platter free of charge and buy every player a pack of MCs, and no one, NO ONE, should or will, ever work with Harmony Gold. The only way to handle those jerks is total black out.

If back when FASA wrote ALL THE LORE to Star Trek, there was this moment when Gene and FASA were on the same side against the writers of TNG, just blacked out the writers...FASA would still be in bidness and have written every star trek movie other than the first one. What lost Gene is FASA kept making concessions, and changing its games, and going to court, and fighting against something that was selling huge ad space to Crockers and Johnson and Johnson while the trailer park luddites suck up the Lt. Rikers awesome beard.

So what happened was a company that basically owned the rights to write the story for what is now, probably the most successful science fiction series in history, screwed it up, and went out of bidness.

What happens to Battletech now, while its being ham fisted and abused by a litany of different IP holders that grabbed what they could before FASA went belly up, is kind of like the curse of the White Sox (or Red Sox? Which one is the goat myth?). Since they botched that, Battletechs legacy is cursed to follow the same course. Be ram rodded by people who have no love for the story line but hold the IP for $$$. Clams were an effort to not die a painful death when Star Trek was lost. Rotary Autocannons and such are the next people who just wanted new stuff to market.

Now we have ghost heat.

Its a sad but interesting history.

People probably dont know this either, but theres actually an explanation for why Klingons look different in the movies, than they did in the TV show.

Jordan did that.

Never got paid for it either. It just got ripped out of a game they were working on. They had to come up with a reason why there was the discrepancy between the FASA created Klingons back story, and the movies.

Came up with some thing about a genetic experiment gone wrong, and had to retroactively explain why Klingon language and culture was different from the 8 or so years of FASA lore, than the movie.

Gene was actually onboard with letting them do the next movie, to FASA lore, as well as TNG, but as said. FASA started fighting back instead of just ignoring that the movies and shows existed and continued to make the franchise look ridiculous. Gene of course didnt like his baby being attacked like that, and told FASA to take a hike.

In the same time frame, Lucas saw this, and made his famous "its all lore" statement. Allowing all the fanmade stuff that passed some sort of litmus test, into the official Star Wars lore.

Since Gene basically said FASA was good by him, everyone took that to mean that he had done the same thing. So he looked foolish when new Star Trek stuff came out, with completely different stories like FASA and the fan content never happened.

Now thats all forgotten history.

I tend to agree with you on that, but I think Catalyst and Topps have a chance to bring it back, but they have to be very careful... or maybe do a re-boot to it, and 'fix' things like the Clans maybe? I started in TT with the 3050 TRO, so I got into it beacuse of Clan Ghost Bear, and I love them dearly, but I know that they broke the game.

If they were to find if a viable product I think they could work wonders with it... I mean for years Shadowrun was nearly dead, but they managed to bring it back from the depths with 4th and 5th editions (as much as I hate the limit system in 5th... to easy to brake...), it leaves me with a little hope for Battletech and Mechwarrior in general.
