yeha but only able to sue the nipple guns simply means less damage per pop.

and 70tons tall as an atlas is still better than 50 tons and fat as an atlas with CT size of a dragon. So lots of mechs are worse, but the grasshopper isn't. At least, not by shape.

That argument does not fly. Just because one chassis is horribly over scaled, it is ok to make some thing that is also badly scaled?

of course not, but the guy complaining about the hsape being bad is just not right. Its not the best, but far from bad.

then i just tell you to learn to torso twist and jump-twist.
or you just cant play smart enough for a quickdraw and need superior firepower.

Yea... that's why I've placed twice in Quickdraws for mech specific tourneys. I guess I know nada about these things.

Quote

quickdraw dies fast? i would know that. it doesnt.

It does, but I'm not going to be dumb with such a handicapped chassis.

Quote

in fact its one of the best zombie mechs at this point IF you can play them which alot of people simply cant because it doesnt have OMGWTFROFLPWN quirks that make playing certain mechs easier than it should ever be.

If you're using a Standard engine, you are so much easier to farm. I regularly use XL on it because it's so overly large that any loss of speed gets me killed.

Quote

about the head narc... i am one of these guys that check the mechs and how they can be configured when i have them in my hangar and not earlier to make useless assumptions on how it might be. if it cant fit a narc in the head anytime soon, fine. i can live with a srm4.

Yes... waste away heat sinks or using smaller engines for one extra weapon. So scary!

just what i expected. getting into the tournament ranks is soo hard since so many people play it... yea.
before all that quirkening i had a std in it. still didnt die much altho i usually run the front.

and actually you put one DHS for a minor better heat dissipation for 8.6 more damage that you can use while your mech is near overheating?

quite sad i never feel handicapped with the quickdraw. more often i feel handicapped by timberwolves not supporting it.
mine isnt even faster than standard but then i dont play like the standard player.

could be the reason why you feel handicapped with it.

Actually, I chose that bracket because not many people play it in the first place.

I've played it when it first came out (and stopped using them on a large sabbatical basis).

I played it BEFORE the quirkening (the last mech tourney).

I don't need quirks to maximize it, but it still needs help... and trying to argue against this is a complete joke.

SRM4 = 3 tons... 2 ton launcher + 1 ton ammo (unless you like half ton ammo)

I'd like 3 tons for large engine and DHS please.

When I'm running a Timberwolf, I feel like I can pretty much murder everything on the field if I'm given enough time.

When I'm running a Quickdraw, I feel like I'm running for my life like the Gingerbread Man. If I'm not ending the match with every internal exposed, I'm not doing a good enough job.

They are literally not in the same bracket of difficulty... even if I go full laservomit on the Quickdraw.

I know handicapped mechs when I see them. The Quickdraw is handicapped. It doesn't even need to be repeated further.

3 tons you can use for a weapon if you have only 3 slots left and that can happen.

ye running around in a quickdraw means you cant run around like stupid and murder anything. thats true.
i still do it quite often. i just dont run alone but playing it in its role. if you quirk it more it will become a second thunderbolt-5ss or 9s.
mind you, i played it with the std 300 before quirkening and in that tournament with a massive 28 alpha. still ranked top 10.
was it hard? yes. was it challenging? hell yes. was it handicapped? no. it could perform well when the team knows what it does and this is still a teamgame.
too many times i see heavy's just camping and sniping, usually the reasons of a loss.

no timberwolf is ez-mode compared to a quickdraw. really ez-mode.
simply because it has 15 tons more + a durable XL.
still doesnt make the QKD handicapped as long as you dont torture it as a sniper or a large laser boat.

Crazy thing, I just looked at my old minis, the Grasshopper is just as tall there too, taller than the Awesome.
Kinda glad the Crusader is not done, it is about as tall.
Trebuchet was smaller though.

So it is 1,5 times as tall as the commando? I could live with that :D

I'm confident that you will, at some point, see at least one clown with an LRM 5 in the head and a Tag in one of the precious shoulder mounts.

All the canon mech pilots will mount a LRM 5 in the head of the Grasshopper.

Amirite?

I'll drop 10 million cbills on this right here, right now.

After witnessing an Atlas in the Pot of Gold challenge running around with 2 LRM15s and 2 LB10Xs (again, I saw this ages ago too).

Honorable mention for seeing a Storm Crow with 3 LRM20s. You're Doom Crowing wrong you invalid.

not my cup o tea builds, but as long as the person is doing reasonably well and having fun....how is it "doing it wrong"?

Makes me want to break out all the troll builds.

Only he wasn't doing reasonably well. He ended the game with little over 200 damage.

For easier assists, sure. And the bonus for making the enemy duck down. LRMs are disproportionately scary for many people.
