Been a while since anyone posted in here, but I'm glad I found it instead of making a new thread!

If I'm remembering correctly, I believe my first visit to the Chicago center (in North Pier Mall) was in late 1992. I was a short train ride and a short walk from North Pier, so I went far too often for my own good. I ended up playing more Red Planet than Battletech though, I loved the hell out of that game.

Still have all of my mission pins and almost every single one of my mission logs somewhere in a box :)

There used to be like 6-8 pods here at the Dave & Buster's in Cincinnati Ohio.... back when I was like 13 I was so sad when they took them out... :)

I have my trophy from Seattle Cup 2000 sitting at my desk at work as we speak. I didn't get it in a way I was proud of (cough, Roadkill, sorry, cough.) I've got my pins at home. Best video game memory every, or damn close - losing to Magus in a tourney sudden death with all of my good WotC friends watching. Alphas to the gut at the same time, followed by a second Alpha strike delivered at the same time to each other in the same location. My SRM went ride, his didn't. Match over. I think it was about 1min, 15 seconds. ******* awesome. I miss the pods.

sadly i was never able to play in a pod... i´d love to, but they never have been popular in europe, especially in germany...( which is weird, because germany had ((and still has)) a decent fanbase)

well, but i will do my best to build a simpit for MWO at home, will not be something too special, but i think it will do for a nice experience ;)

Pod players tend to love all things Mechwarrior, but there's something about the pod experience - the comraderie, the ability to step out of the pod and pat each other on the back and have a good time face to face - that just can't be replicated in an online environment. If you get the chance to catch pods in your area or visit an area with a local site, you owe it to yourself to stop by.

Those pods (along with a 4-set from Modesto, California and a 4-set from Charleston, NC) are now in Houston at MechCorps. Come visit them ! ;)

Or just yelling between the pods in the heat of battle!

There was a bar right next to the Chicago Virtualworld site, so in between sessions it was great to recap over drinks ;)

Yeah what was that place called, Circle Center Mall or something like that? I lived in Indy for a little while and played there as well. The whole top floor of that place was an arcade and a restaurant. And it had a surprisingly good food court too!

Only went once - the location in Toronto at the base of the CN tower. I went with a group of friends - some of whom played TT btech. We all had a blast, but the price was steep enough to keep us going on a regular basis. Such a shame I never went back.

Virtual World, Dallas. It was a fun afternoon out, and a brave attempt at a business.

I had a few days there too
Both the race game and Battle Pods

They used to have a setup at our local Dave & Busters. It was a little pricy, but awsome. Unfortunatly they were removed to cater to a new crowd.

Virtual world San Deigo, Tons of fun.. Then when a friend brought the pods up to Sacramento, at laser force here. It was fun all over again, this same friend, tried to buy a few pods, and got us to go with him, but he only brought a tiny truck, so we got the software, 4 pods, and replacement screens and stuff from the other pods.
