Gentlemen, I give you the Quad Firing PPC Alpha-able Awesome-8Q



Glorious PPC master race.

What are your opinions on these amazingly Awesome (No pun intended) Quirks?

Nice Video but its cherry picking.I can do this similiar or better with my Banshee with tripple AC5 and 2 PPC. Awesome ist still the one of the worst IS ASSAULTS.

I've had more success with a triple ERPPC 9M, just because of the added speed. Also for some reason my 8Q ran a lot hotter than the 9M, so I guess I'll attribute that to quirks. Still, it gets ripped apart if it gets caught alone or up close.

Swapped my 8Q in for a 8R and it actually does pretty well, for a missile boat.

The real AWS-9Q has got three important advantages:

• Double heat sinks with full 2x efficiency.
  
• In BattleTech PPCs do full damage even under 90m.
  
• Guardian ECM suite in its Center torso.

Looks like you are doing well with the mech and the build MrPrez. I'm glad you found something that works for you. As a pilot who also pilots suboptimal mechs (Catapults And Vindicators), its always fun to do well in them.

Just ignore the haters and the..."oh, well I do 1,000 damage in my assault with my 6 ultra blah blah blah". As long as you like the build and do well, thats all that matters.

wath are you doing if an enemy comes nearer than 90 meter? Your dead.... I would really happy if PGI remove the 90 meter minimum range on the ppc

I guess you stick close to your team mates. I wouldn't want to run all PPCs in such a slow mech just for that reason, but that's me.

As for minimum range. Keep the 90m min range as a baseline and introduce a quirk to eliminate minimum range on certain platforms.

I run my 8Q with 2 PPCs in the arm and MPLs everywhere else. It seems to do pretty well.

Ran the quad PPC build the day quirks were released. Terrible to alpha, fantastic shooting 2 at a time or even machine-gunning PPCs (as a unit member called it). Still suffers from the Awesome's terrible design: Low weapon mounts, amazingly easy hit boxes, and too slow. There is also still that issue with standard PPCs and hit reg that (I do not know if I should be surprised or not) PGI hasn't look into.

The beauty in mechwarrior to me is to take any mech and build it any way you want within its limitations, the possibilities are endless! I know the awesome is considered a sub par assault, (trust me I know im an atlas plot) But its great fun, all mechs are. and quad ppcing people in the face is oh so satsfying.

Also, forums + mobile device = troubles

Your 4 PPC awesome is 40 'pinpoint' damage and heats up all the way, suffering the full effects of balance heat.

That's just cute compared to what my 6 PPC stalker used to be, no quirks, no balance heat, just 120 damage and an overheat.

Its just a killshot montage, doesn't really do a good job of doing more than showing that off. We'd need to see an actual complete battle.

Will never happen as it's a part of the game design. Don't like the 90M min. range? Run with the ER PPC.

I will admit, its very hard to find actual brawls with this guy due to the ppcs range limitations, I tried, and the best I could do as far as non-killshots was the timberwolf, and the awesome in the video, the light mechs were oneshot kills, But I could definately try an entire battle, id be more than happy to showcase that with this awesome, awesome of awesomeness.
