Lrms Not Locking After Patch

seems to take forever before they will even start trying to lock. Very slow to lock, loses lock even if still aimed at targeted mech.

yea lrms keep dropping lock its a little odd

This isn't a bug, its a feature. The forum purists finally got what they've always wanted.

Yup. same problem for me. Seems if you zoom in, the issue goes away... but, zooming back out, you need to be on pinpoint ct yo get al ock and as soon as you move off of pinpoint ct, you lose lock.

Don't know how to do video but I also notice this problem. It seems that the centre of the reticle must be on the actual target.That's why it is so difficult to achieve a lock at range.

testing grounds is unaffected it seems (tried to fraps it there to avoid having to try and find a game where there's lots of ecm). Will record and then try and find a host to post it to (new to this)... or since the devs found it in test, it is there too)

Okay, so we've just replicated some unintended locking behavior in Testing Grounds.

Talking with the engineers about this right now.

much harder to get target locked...I personally like this (if this is a new feature), because lurming is now more challenging.

yeah same issue, you have to hold it perfectly still in center of target box for a sec before it even starts to lock then through the hole normal lock time.
In a Stalker this means literally having to stop and stand in spot, for a long time, to get lock. Forget running and taking shots off to the side.
Nothing in the patch notes and Alexander doesn't know about it so I'm guessing not intended.

I noticed this too on my Stalker with TAG and Artemis. Takes forever to get a lock even against even non ECM targets and even TAG seems slower. Im losing lots of targets.

I tried telling my teams, but they say that its because of ECM. But I know what ECM looks like and is not ECM. It Acts like ECM but its Not ECM targets.

I always hate when I get a lock and the second I hit the fire button the lock drops and my missiles go straight into the ground. Now its even worse because it takes so long to get the lock.

Did LRMs get a Ninja nerf? I suspect a Ninja nerf that will be called 'working as intended', or 'Its not us, it must be you'.

Just chiming in with another confirmation; Tractor Joe describes it perfectly.

Before the patch, you could lock by having your reticule being just somewhere near the target box, now you have to not only have the reticule inside the target box, but in a very small area in the very centre of the target box. And you have to keep it there for the whole lock duration or it instantly loses lock and you have to start over again.

It makes getting LRM locks a real challenge.

I'm not sure I want you to fix this bug ;)

Okay we've got this filed and fixed. The fix release date/time and the fixes being performed are still TBD.

I can confirm that this is definitely present, even on a Stalker 5M with BAP, Advanced Sensor Range Module, and Advanced Decay Module. You have to aim exact center mass, and lock disappears the instant your reticule is off the target. Oddly enough, watching Clan pilots seems to show that they don't have the problem.

Have a fix but no eta on fix? That's terrible news. Probably wont be until next week and call it a Hotfix.

Guaranteed that if ECM went wonky the servers would be shut down immediately for an instant fix.

Ah well, that's just life I guess

Ya Im in the same boat. My Stalker is my favorite. I use it the most by far. But with the locks like they are makes it tough so I probably wont play much.

I just bought premium time too and bought the Wave 3 pre-order. Kind of regret it now. Especially if they put off the fix (or if they fix it at all) until next Tuesday or longer.

Ummmm... LRM's are generally considered worthless by most higher-end groups, and that was true before this bug made locks harder to get / hold.

Eagerly awaiting the fix.
