Bought an extra Seismic Sensor Module, when I thought I was just equipping the one I had.

Set me back a few days on buying the next chassis I was chasing.

We were messing around in the private lobby shooting each other with one medium laser only. The next day I hopped in a match with my friend and he was running his 1 ml laser Hunchback from the day before. It was pretty funny.

I had a spare Dire Wolf chassis (Yes, spare. I have 6 DWFs) that I left to mothball in the back of the mechlab because I was waiting to get an S variant side torso for a silly build I wanted to try.

It had 9 C-ER PPCs on it and NO armor. One day, I accidentally clicked on it and launched. Only realized what I'd done when I'd gotten into the match. Told my team mates and I got laffed at. So I ran into the middle on Crimson Straight and an hero'd. Would have thought with a 135 damage alpha that I would have done more to the Mad Dog than blow off an arm. I overrode, took a shot at a spider, hit him with all of them, no components destroyed. Then I exploded.

I once loaded SSRM ammo, rather than SRM ammo in my Timber Wolf D build...

The other was running my CN9-D with two tons of ammo on it when it didn't have any LRM's....

Taking LB20X ammo, instead of UAC20.

Unlocking permanent Woodland Camo for my Victors for 750MC, thinking it would unlock that pattern for all mechs.

Same mistake, but with Jagers and the polka dot camo.

Was super pissed.

Forgetting the right ammo, check. Forgetting ANY ammo, check. Buying a module because I didn't realize I already had 3 of them, check. Buying another 300XL because I forgot I owned 6, check. Forgetting to check armor on a new chassis, check a few dozen times.

Before the UI was very slightly improved (to make it harder to waste GXP) I accidentally spent several thousand GXP on mech tree skills multiple times in 1 night because I was tired, and that was fairly annoying though at least it meant needing less MXP to grind out.

It really says something when spending GXP on anything but modules is a grievous mistake.

I once sold my Dragon-1N, could have sworn I demounted the modules, but ended up selling a ML range, radar deprivation, and advanced sensors on top of the AC-5 cooldown module I was willing to sell with it.

I actually had support go through and look through logs to see if it got sold (to their credit, they were very helpful and patient with me); I guess it explains why getting the c-bills to start on the Warhawks seemed so easy to me at the time.

Once launched an assault mech with no ammo (back in the days before the new UI and any warnings would come up about that.) Fortunately, the game crashed upon match start, so my mech was able to be useless without my blunder!

My worst Mechlab mistake? ---- I tried to use it instead of smurfy.

Yeah, somebody had to say it.

Other than that:
My Awesome 9M was running amok for three months with 78 tons of equipment, instead of 80.
Despite me rebuilding it two times.

(Awesomes running amok? I must be kidding, right? No. You see, that was before the clans. Before the quirkening.
It was bad, yes, but not outclassed as today. 85 kph in a 80-tonner was a feature back then.
In the end it was the powercreep that killed the Awesome off completely.)

Mech lab mistakes? None that really impacted much or made much of a difference....yet....

Ofc, on my alt acct, I will consider buying a CN-9A, wasting most of my cadet bonus a mistake in the mechlab, as well as buying the VTR-9K twice......with MC no less...lol.

But otherwise, I try to use smurfy like mad and read the forums about stuff before I really make Mechlab choices, given how.....un experimentally and New player friendly the game is.

First week after cadet bonus completed - swapped my upgrades back and forth to tweak builds without realizing that "save" was draining my bank account. Big ooops.

One afternoon I patched my game and the UI went from UI1.5 to UI2.0. Biggest mistake I've made so far.

My Worst Mechlab mistake? Downloading UI 2.0 back in Jan 2014 with all its errors, problems, and very non-user friendly UI that is still there a year later....(STILL no smurfy like build making there RUSS).. It might have helped PGI with the backend but the FRONT end is still problematic and just a horrible experience overall.... slow, clunky, and horrible interface.

UI 2.0 made me so angry that I basically stopped playing MWO for a about 4-5 months... (Feb 2014- August 2014).... I missed the Clan Invasion and how OP the TimberWolf was back then (and other other clans)... I"m not mad that I missed that part... PGI really came back when IGP was finally taken out and Sept 2014+ PGI has really tried to fix the game plus CW released,ect.. Russ and his team have tried their best..

I still miss the old Mechlab.... and especially this..

Sold my Jager-S before I realized that I did not finish eliting it. Bought it back during 35% faction sale so it wasn't too bad.

Awarded a Cataphract 3D from event. Thought I already had one and sold it.

Realized later I didn't own a single Cataphract...that was my old account.

I had about 16,000,000 cb saved up and was about to purchase my second TBR. But before I did that, I noticed I had a mech called the CN9-AH(L). I know I sold all my Centurions except the Wang, so I investigated. Basically a slower Wang with missiles instead of lasers. Sweet.

Started tinkering with it, XL Engines, DHS, Endo, the works. Got an interesting build with an AC/20 and 3x SRM4 that seemed pretty fun, but rather slow. Wasn't going to go through with it. I was watching a show and also in voice comms...

Somehow I ended up saving it. almost 8,000,000 cb down the drain. And I still hate that mech to this day.

Downloading UI 2.0

I was kind of in the same boat, man. I took a break for a while before UI 2.0 came out. Came back just as UI 2.0 launched. It was so completely atrocious, I couldn't even believe it. All that time waiting for a functional, intuitive, clean mechlab interface, and instead we actually got one that was literally worse than the one before.

To this day I absolutely HATE everything about UI 2.0. It does not have one single redeeming quality, and there is no function that I don't HATE using every single time I play MWO.

But I at least can bear through it now.
