Had fun with the FRR pugs who are a pretty good bunch. Organized for pugs, and won over half my games. Thanks PGI even though i have no hope of getting the free mech, I tried out CW and think it's pretty good. Could use some more maps. I'll play in the next CW event, until then pug life!!

You're lucky. My side was hit by a light rush. They chose to fool around so they could bring out their assaults next. I think i didn't qualify that match.

Every match that I've played I've more than satisfied the 80 point requirement.

I completed this challenge only to get that Thunderbolt.
Absolutely I am not going to play CW. Waiting for 30-40 minutes, only to be pitted against premade 10-12s composed almost exclusively of Madcats and Ryokens (with some Daishi or Loki here and there) is not my idea of fun ...

And please do not give me all this about it is designed for team play, because I imagine the majority of players play alone or maybe with 1 or 2 friends not in 12 man groups.
Honestly 80 match points in CW isn't all that hard usually, even in pugs.
The trick is to understand its not standard drops and that you actually need to follow tactics.

Never underestimate pugs, both on your team or the enemy.
Relax, do your part, repeat.

Day 2 was pretty rough. Took 17 matches in total on day 2 to get the second 10 points. two of the unqualified matches got 5+ kills and 10+ assists, but you can only do so much damage to a gaggle of firestarters & ravens. The other 5 were a mix of absolute stomps (one of which I was on the winning side, light rush and only had time to kill 1 mech before it was over) and just plain ole bad piloting on my part. who did put that rock there anyway.
The matches that were evenly matched were well worth the wait. for the time consumed (averaged about 50 minutes per match all up) the rewards are pretty spot on. The lopsided ones, they're basically a waste of an hour where you get about the same reward as winning (or losing) a regular match so you can see why its unappealing to casual players who might only be able to play 1 or 2 matches a night.

I'm curious how the play as IS and Clan Pug really differs.

And yet, 8 of the players on the PUG team* I dropped with earlier didn't get 80 points, as they derped into the guns of a 12-man.
This is apparently what I'm supposed to be able to carry after waiting 15 minutes for a match. I was thankful to have racked up 120 points with my first two Mechs, before the spawncamping of our dropships cost me my final two Mechs without a single point.
* I use the term 'team' loosely. 'Creche' may have been a better description.
