I enjoyed this challenge, although I'd like it spread over more days. I got 11 qualifying games out of 13 (1 was a light rush, and the other i was sniping and opening doors all game) and I'm all set. Can't bear to play any more.

Had fun with the FRR pugs who are a pretty good bunch. Organized for pugs, and won over half my games. Thanks PGI even though i have no hope of getting the free mech, I tried out CW and think it's pretty good. Could use some more maps. I'll play in the next CW event, until then pug life!!

Actually this competition makes CW fun, because everyone wants to kill everyone and no one light rushes.
Only had time to play 5 games, all got points. Yay.

You're lucky. My side was hit by a light rush. They chose to fool around so they could bring out their assaults next. I think i didn't qualify that match.

Just completed my 20th 80 point match - I am exhausted. This was awesome fun! In the process I also earned 8million cbills and another mechbay (promotion in Clan Wolf!). Overall, I will sleep well. Thanks for a great event.

Hardest part is finding a match.

Every match that I've played I've more than satisfied the 80 point requirement.

Thanks for the opportunity to play! I don't usually play CW but this event allowed me to put some time in and I now have some skill and understanding of how to play in that arena. I look forward to the next event and hope it includes a portion for play in CW!

I like the idea of these events, but it has become pretty clear that they are impossible for casual players. It's a shame because casual players could use the free mech, while competetive players probably already have them.

I tell you one thing:

I completed this challenge only to get that Thunderbolt.

Absolutely I am not going to play CW. Waiting for 30-40 minutes, only to be pitted against premade 10-12s composed almost exclusively of Madcats and Ryokens (with some Daishi or Loki here and there) is not my idea of fun ...

Sorry but this event is rubbish, it gives 12 man organized teams a a free mech, everyone else you are wasting your time. Pug drops will get camped at spawn points because PGI has not made these maps properly, and CW is still In a beta so why. All that will happen is players will become even more disillusioned by CW and play it less.

And please do not give me all this about it is designed for team play, because I imagine the majority of players play alone or maybe with 1 or 2 friends not in 12 man groups.

Honestly 80 match points in CW isn't all that hard usually, even in pugs.

The trick is to understand its not standard drops and that you actually need to follow tactics.

It is fun. Solo drops, so far only 1 light rush and 1 stomp on us, 12 good matches.
Never underestimate pugs, both on your team or the enemy.
Relax, do your part, repeat.

ok, so day one went pretty smoothly. lost most of the matches but got the points so was happy with that.

Day 2 was pretty rough. Took 17 matches in total on day 2 to get the second 10 points. two of the unqualified matches got 5+ kills and 10+ assists, but you can only do so much damage to a gaggle of firestarters & ravens. The other 5 were a mix of absolute stomps (one of which I was on the winning side, light rush and only had time to kill 1 mech before it was over) and just plain ole bad piloting on my part. who did put that rock there anyway.

The matches that were evenly matched were well worth the wait. for the time consumed (averaged about 50 minutes per match all up) the rewards are pretty spot on. The lopsided ones, they're basically a waste of an hour where you get about the same reward as winning (or losing) a regular match so you can see why its unappealing to casual players who might only be able to play 1 or 2 matches a night.

Just completed the challange. But I don´t see any option where I can choose between these 2 Mechs. Maybe I am just blind...

And now... FOR THE JADE FLACONS!

I'm curious how the play as IS and Clan Pug really differs.

That was exhausting. But a hell of a lot of fun! I enjoy cw anyway but as others have noted, the event has really boosted numbers and the variety of the play going on.

Thanks PGI!

You pretty much receive 80 points for not falling on your face on the way out of the dropship.

And yet, 8 of the players on the PUG team* I dropped with earlier didn't get 80 points, as they derped into the guns of a 12-man.

This is apparently what I'm supposed to be able to carry after waiting 15 minutes for a match. I was thankful to have racked up 120 points with my first two Mechs, before the spawncamping of our dropships cost me my final two Mechs without a single point.

* I use the term 'team' loosely. 'Creche' may have been a better description.
