But I think it is a perfectly reasonable event for those who use TS and have enough tonnage and time for the multiple CW drops.
This event is a minor distraction from the pending arrival of our most holy trashcan of doom!

That being said a new TDR-9SE is a happy thing.

So, you really think that people who have experienced a weekend of frustration will stay in that game-mode deliberately? Far fetched hope, I'd say.
As opposed to the other event weekends? Players grind for stuff in the normal queues, become frustrated and post angrily, then go right back to grinding. The CW matches people play will be a twist on a familiar experience.
If 5% of the people that play CW for the first time because of the event stay afterward I'll be happy.

Let's see, 80 Match score is not that hard if you don't get rushed in 5minutes, so half an hour per match, plus 10minutes waiting times. This times 20 is... hey, only 13 hours 20 minutes.... wait wut? And not even counting some failed matches because that will happen...
so roughly 15hours of MWO will bring you a new mech.

Score 600ish dmg and you should have your 80, and 600 is p1ss easy to do.

Isn't agreeing with something 110% the equivalent of voter fraud? You are literally... wait... checking... Literally, figuratively... Yes, literally admitting to falsifying how much you agree?
On a totally unrelated note I agree with this 90%, also especially due to CW match length.
I have no idea where my last 10% of agreeing went to. It was right here just a bit ago.

I'm pretty sure you can sell them. And only the Champion Thunderbutt has the 30% XP buff. The Crow is just a regular old Crow without any buffs.
well you cant sell a champion and the storm crow is a prime so its posable it dose, i think its a bit wearied they would pick a champion and a non champion.

Oh well, I already have both these mechs, but I might give it a try anyway. I can sell the doubles at least.
Additionally: PGI (yes they'll never read this) could you consider starting weekend events 5-7 hours earlier so those in western europe have something to do on their friday afternoon off? After all, you also extend this event untill midnight on tuesday for your side of the big pond

My King Crab funding could use the money from selling a stormcrow.

Fair enough. But from my point of view (as a non-CW-Pugger), I've had way less frustration on regular events than on the single CW match I tried yesterday evening (local time) - and we weren't even stomped (it was 35-ish to 48 in the end), plus I got the landmark 80 points really easy (140, tbe; it was just a test how difficult it would be, I am aware that the event has not started), even without a single kill and with two medium and two light mechs. It was just: It was absolutely no fun.
We (IS) were fighting the tube-breds on counter attack. They have a massive advantage there IMO, being able to just stack up on lasers, doing way more damage because almost all their stuff weighs less, their DHS take up one third less space and they have a more than decent range advantage over IS weapons - and they don't die when you blow off one ST.
That means, that from a distance, when you're still trading a bit, you're either doing half the damage because you just cannot equip as many long-range weapons and with medium range, they are already doing full damage while you're still way above your optimum range, doing way less damage than nominal output, so that 2 IS-ML vs. 2 c-ERML is just laughable.
Additionally, CW is more for the hardcore players, owning and/or having mastered a full deck already, while at the previous events, odds were more even. Now it's 4x mastered/module-equipped vs. 1x elited/maybe-moduled + 3 trials for many.
To put it short: CW is even less beginner friendly than normal play, generating even more frustration with beginners. I am afraid, it's destined to drive beginners away from MWO altogether, if they are not prepared.
--
All that general ranting aside, I like the general concept that CWers get their preferred event as well, since they were at a (timewise) disadvantage at almost all the events before, so I won't complain about the event in general.

You can indeed sell Champion (C) Mechs. I should know, I've sold more than one. Only the Special (I) version of PRIME Clan Mechs is not sellable, so there shouldn't be any problem with the Ryoken / Stormcrow either.

I know how you feel there that is why I built a new deck focused entirely on out-ranging the clans with ERLLs.
