Equivalent from ASUS is G750JY if you prefer the older chassis. Much more expensive but really good for the money. Runs cool, goes to about 80 degrees when gaming for hours. Quiet, good keyboard, great screen.
Runs MWO on max setting with MSAA on and vsync at 60fps. And it runs at 60fps. I don't know how much further it will go because of vsync
Would not recommend the Y50, terrible non-cooling system. It's good for the money, though. That thing goes to 90 degrees temps, which are fine and it will function without a problem but life expectancy is therefore reduced.

Right, which makes the money you paid for it over the lesser models not well spent. You're literally bleeding performance. For the thing to throttle it has to reach about 95 degrees, which is just ... not good for a computer.

Good Luck Finding a Laptop CPU that can keep up with a 2500K
as for GPU, Looking at Toms Hardware GPU Hierarchy, the 660Ti is on the same Level as the 880M with the 970M a Step up from it followed by the 980M a Step above that.
here's a MSI GT70 2PE-1040US Dominator Pro for $4K Canadian: http://www.newegg.ca...E16834152576CVF
i7-4930MX (3GHz Quad Core, While the i5-2500K is a 3.3GHz Quad)
880M = Same Level as the 660Ti

For you Americans:
DELL Alienware ALW18-34490sLV for $5100
i7-4940MX (3.1GHz, Still 0.2GHz Short of a 2500K)
880M, 660Ti Equivalent

To match an i7 2500K at stock clocks, an i7 4720MQ (or HQ) would do the job. Then there are still the 48xx and 49xx mobile i7s to consider. A person savvy enough to unlock their manufacturer's BIOS and properly cool the system could also unlock these chips for some limited overclocking.
Toward the GPU end, yeah, an 880M or better would go toe to toe with the 660Ti. I have an 870M and it does require slightly lower settings than my single 660Ti did.

I was going for Base Clocks, Not Turbo Clocks. if Turbo mode could be toggled on or off and work on all cores like a OC instead of just 1 core or whatever then a lot of the Mobile I7s would beat the i5-2500K
but going for Base Clocks Vs Base Clocks, The Closest i7 mobile Quad Core to the i5-2500K (3.3GHz) is:
i7-4940MX (3.1GHz)
i7-4930MX (3.0 GHz)
i7-3940XM (3.0 GHz)

Ah, yeah, definitely. I think the turbo clocks for 1 and 2 active cores are probably pretty relevant for MWO, too, though. The IPC increase between SB and HW is something to note, too. You can definitely compare a HW chip to a SB chip that is 200-300MhZ faster. Something to consider.
