Would like to see a high level faction reward that unlocks ability to have a 240 ton drop deck that can have 1-2 slots that load opposing tech. This would be incentive to do a lot more CW and then stick with that faction so that you can use any of you mechs, not just IS or Clan only.

If you go to different faction, you must level this up again in that faction to use.

Let the flaming begin b/c everyone hates my ideas lol...

Spheroids would like to gimp themselves with Clantech ?

Go on, lads, go on ... kekekekekeke

On the other hand ... sphere AC´s are desirable in most clanbuilds...gimme those ^^

It is not a matter of superior tech, but being able to use all of your mechs in some way in CW....

Who the current system really hurts is loyalists. The clans have a rich history of taking mechs and pilots as spoils of war in every combat zone. It is part of their code. So why can I, as a clanner, not add a "captured" Is mech from my inventory when it was in lore?

That was part of my thinking, as it would apply both ways... I was even going to suggest that faction ranking unlocked the CW equivalent of trial mechs... but ultimately I just really want to play any my owned mechs, even if the blend is never more than 50% clan...

When I say "CW trial mechs" I mean that as IS you could choose from some specific "recovered" clan mechs available at your rank, for example...

Clarification: When I said "mixing tech" I didn't mean mounting Clan weaps on IS chassis or vice versa but that you could have a slot or two in you drop deck that would permit either Clan or IS mechs.

I could see allowing clan units to use IS mechs when they are holding territory and what not. That holds to lore as most captured planets we garrisoned by second line units that did not use omni mechs. That would also open the door for IIC variants, though I would not like to go down that road as it would surely usher in the crys for mix tech as a whole

Pilots pairing fully min-maxed I.S. 'Mechs with OP Holy Trinity Omnis sounds like a recipe for even more ROFLstomps.

I don't like it, but if it absolutely had to be added ... I would insist it only be the reward for the top one or two faction ranks. Limit it to one cross-Faction 'Mech on the second rank, and then adding a second cross-faction 'Mech on the top rank. That means a maximum of two cross-Faction 'Mechs in any drop deck, and only if you hold the highest Faction rank. I think that would adequately limit the total damage this could do to CW participation.

Haven ?
In lore no clanpilot would have touched the inferiorities called spheroid Mechs .

Yes, they captured spheroid pilots when they were good/brave enough but after that capture the spheroids went mostly techs first and maybe pilots later (like much later) .
Being a bondsman from the Innersphere is no fun, as everyone in clan society looks down upon you, even the lowest traders/craftsmen, heck, even freeborn look down on them .
Getting back to warrior was an arduous, if not herculean task and some times bondsholders even brutally beat the desire out of their bondsmen/women .

IS tech is only desirable for clanwarriors in this game only, while clantech was very desirable for spheroids, be it in MW:O or the lore , although I cannot fully understand what you would want with clanlasers that are hot as hell and nearly as long burning as your next sun, AC´s that shoot a plethora of bullets instead of just dishing it out at once, LRMs that staggerfire instead of just vomiting the whole load at once.
The only thing useful for you IS guys would be the bigger streaklaunchers although their sizes come at a very hot price and maybe the versatility that 3 (!) mechs so far bring to the table but which are nicely neutered by some highly specialized quirkmechs .

Think about that maybe ...

What I'm thinking about is mech bays I have filled with clan tech that I can't use in CW... even if it's only 1-2 mechs per drop.

I bet there are a lot of MWO clanners that feel the same way.

I know it's not canon/lore-ish. I get that, I just feel PGI might sell more MC/packages if peeps could use more of it.

I agree that it should not be a trivial reward to earn the right to do so... reserved for the staunchest loyalists or most crazed CW faction grinders...
