This Has Got To Stop.

I've honestly gotten into a habit of having two sets of modules ready, and continually fiddling with the game selection options, in order to avoid getting trapped into an ELO-forced hole like that.
When I don't notice it happening until a few losses in...that's when I get angry.

When my lurm's fail to lock.
Well I guess I'll just soldier on.
When that commando just climb up my rear exhaust port.
Well I guess I'll just soldier on.
When I turn a corner and there's 4 enemy mechs.
Well I guess I'll just soldier on.
When I'm narced and tagged by that same commando.
Well I guess I'll just soldier on.
When I chose to defend the base and I'm that last mech standing.
Well I guess I'll just soldier on.
When I'm having the best match of the week and my wife screams there's a spider.
I'll look twice and make sure it's not a 5D.
Then I'll just soldier on.

@ Novakaine, I feel your pain. There's only so much you can do to influence the outcome of a game and when it happens time after time it can become a morale sapping experience.

Trust me, if you aren't having fun with the game, then don't play it. It is serving LITERALLY ZERO purpose if you aren't enjoying playing. You will be happier NOT playing it.

Yeah, right.
Novakaine, I actually had fun again this weekend. I did play with some CW with other Jade Falcon players. But, on Sunday, I mostly played CW solo. Yes, I had some games where certain teammates were horrendous. Some were obviously not using leveled mechs or ones with decent load outs. For the most part, I had more fun than any of the PUG solo games I've played. Had some wins, had some losses. But I earned lots, and got loyalty points toward my next Faction level (FREE STUFF). Those games seemed better balanced than the PUG solo games.
Yes, the "first come, first serve" CW queue gave me better games than the Elo/MatchMaker system that is supposed to match teams of equal skills. And, yes, I have left all three game types checked. Maybe it is time to ditch it, and do open servers.

Everyone thinks the lrms are going to dry up until they find that the "incoming missile" alarm was going off for some lrm5 kintaros and kit foxes, maybe another mech running 2 larger racks. Point is, they are hiding from imagined damage, that could easily be countered. Now, if you run into a team running warhawk Bs, lrm stormcrows, stalkers and awsome lrm boats, then you may truly be suppressed without many means of countering the barrage, but this map tends to favor outside movement. Teams that camp their spawn ridge or rush the center, get pinned down or trapped in a valley then just get picked off one at a time.
But, sometimes, teams just suck. I play almost exclusively solo queues and find that you win some and get stuck with some weird teams at times.

Some days you just end up dropping with people that don't listen and want to run off and die, that's MWO. Outside of team drops, there's no way to PUG in peace. I'm not sure ELO even works sometimes.

I am not sure about it being an "easier time melting faces off from US playerbase." I play at odd times some days and It's easy enough to find rough PUGs from any region of the world. Such comments are unwelcome. Every region/nationality likely has a similar percentage of good and bad players unless someone wants to accurately compile huge quantities numbers and statistics.

MM is working fine. Its the players not playing as a team that causes games like that. I was in a rough game over the weekend, We were rolled by a team that stuck together and fought better than we did. MM cannot manage how WE as players work together. Complaints like Novakaine's is just players wanting their hand held so they don't have to face the reality that sometimes... they will get their butt kicked.

Or you use Artemis and fire from the second line/over an ally's shoulder. I run an Adder like that with reasonable results.
