That's the thing. Not every hardcore is the same. Just like every casual is different. I'd consider myself a hardcore because reasons, plus I buy. But I'd never pay for a virtual gold anything, nor am I likely to spend 80+ dollars in one hit. Plus I have been playing since both the inception of the Crescent Hawks, and the PGI-IGP iteration of Mechs online. I don't meta. I don't Timby. I'm usually IS in my light RP. And I will hang with the game through thick and thin, as I think I have, and I will walk away if I finally figure that we're going nowhere new. Bottom line is I'm more interested in where we're going than where we've been.
Keep those corkscrew missiles in memory, keep those full effect lighting and damage models in mind. When they have taken care of some of the big issues, we can get them back. Its in their ability, and I can just mark it down as a sign of the game being *under construction* which if we're being honest it still totally is. This is our good ship, the generational ship MWOline, it takes damage it gets fixed, we don't have anywhere else to go (for Mechwarrior) so we're invested. That shouldn't be a question PGI has to ask, 'whether we want them to succeed or fail', because even though we're hard on them, we're here. Many of us having put money into the well more than thrice.
to PGI:
We understand there are issues that must be addressed, and then there are issues we'd like to have addressed, before there are additions we'd like to have added, etc. There is a triage list for success and limited resources, but we'd like to see results, more often, more of them. I'm sorry if it feels like your work is never done, but if you need to expand a bit, do it. If you need to hire some part time willing stringers, then do it. I click on the we're hiring skull and don't see much of anything. If you need more money, figure out how to make it. if you need suggestions, let us know, we're full of ****. But we need, and will power is seriously waning.
